CASology Week 318: SCARY

Welcome to Week 318 at CASology!

There are a few different directions you can go with our SCARY prompt. The obvious is a Halloween themed card, but I can see a few get well or comfort cards being created this week as friends or family face tough (scary) times.

I did go with a Halloween theme, pulling out an ancient bat punch that has survived a few purges of the craft room. The curved cut out is made using a curved edge die. The left edge is cut first and then the top of the die is moved to the right while the bottom stays in place, giving an opening for the bats to fly out.

A slightly smaller panel is inked with Wilted Violet and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks along the line of the cut out and then the white panel popped up over it. The trio of bats and sentiment finish the card.

The design team has wonderful cards this week!

  2. That is a super Halloween card and I love how the curved cut out looks like the bats are flying in and out of it.

  5. This is wonderful, Jacquie. Love how you did that wedge cut, and I want to try that sometime. Bats flying out like that would be super scary IRL.
