Curtain Call: Tasty Tropics + PP300 CAS Celebration + SSS Add Shimmer

I have a quick card to share today.

If you have seen the Curtain Call: Tasty Tropics photo, you know exactly where my inspiration came from.

A sentiment and coconut drink image from Paper Smooches Get Outta Town stamp set are stamped on a scalloped stitched rectangle die cut before the image is colored with Copic markers.

The image is coated with Wink of Stella to add a little festive shine and the panel popped up on a Berry Sorbet card base.

CASology Week 203: CONGRATULATIONS

Welcome to Week 203 at CASology!

  

The word to inspire us this week is CONGRATULATIONS!  I used Trendy Feathers 2 stamp set, designed by Shery Russ of STAMPlorations, on my card.  I love the open, collage feel of these feathers!

Three of the feathers are stamped with Hawaiian Shores, Limeade Ice and Aqua Mist inks from Papertrey Ink before the sentiment is stamped over them.

Fusion Hypothesis #9 + The Paper Players #148

The card I have to share today is being entered in two challenges: The Fusion Card Challenge #9 and the Paper Players Theme Challenge #148.

This is my first time playing along with a Paper Players challenge, but given the theme was Summer Holiday I couldn't resist. You can check out their blog here and play along.

I find it very difficult to separate the sketch and photo inspiration challenges at the Fusion Card Challenge, so fused them for this card.

I took the colors from the inspiration photo, including the white text, and the banner idea from the sketch. Instead of stripes, I have swirly embossed lines which also represent water (instead of rain).

I love this Technique Tuesday/Ali Edwards stamp and imagine I will be using the sentiment a lot in real life as summer rapidly approaches and I chase my kids off electronics and outside.

I used a little adhesive under the starfish charm and on the ends of the hemp cord to hold the banner in place - the anchor and ship's wheel are My Favorite Things dies.
