Freshly Made Sketches #409

Clean Team Designer Jen Mitchell has given us a versatile sketch to work with this week! Because I wanted my square card to fit in a regular envelope I cut it down to 4 1/4 inches, which threw some of the other proportions off a bit.

The MFT Snow Globe Sentiment is stamped and heat embossed in silver first, then the panel is embossed with falling snow and adhered to a white panel which is die cut with a Wonky Stitched Square.

The Poppystamps Laurette Snowflake is cut from white glitter paper and layered on an aqua snowflake to finish the card.

Freshly Made Sketches #408

This versatile sketch comes to us from Clean Team Designer Jennifer Timko! I have been playing around with The Stamp Market Love & Cookies stamps and dies and decided the rectangular panel would become a cookie gift box.

The cookies were all stamped, cut and colored with Copic markers. The blue circles were then stamped and heat embossed with a snowflake and all the cookies coated with Glossy Accents to give them a royal icing finish with micro bead "nonpareils" added to the stars and trees.

A couple of layers of the MFT frame create the edge of the gift box and tissue paper is added to the center with the cookies layered on top.

With this stamp set out, I decided to play along with the Twofer Card Challenge #21: Sweets, and used the star cookie to make a card to go along with a new baby gift. The baby we were eagerly anticipating a couple of weeks ago has arrived and is a boy!

The star is stamped, clear embossed on watercolor paper, colored with Zig markers and then die cut.  A panel is also lightly watercolored before the MFT Beautiful Baby sentiment is added along with a scatter of star confetti under the popped up die cuts.

Here is a look at the two cards together.

Freshly Made Sketches #407

The talented Lee Ann Barrett designed a fabulous sketch for us this week! I played with a few stamp sets before settling on PTI Spruce & Sprigs for the greenery and Lawn Fawn Deck the Halls for the sentiment.

The white panel is embossed with a Tim Holtz Holly embossing folder for interest and texture before the die cuts are layered and the sentiment popped up over them.

CASology Challenge 354: FOG

Welcome to Week 354 at CASology!

The first thing that came to my mind with FOG as our cue word was vellum, as it mimics the translucent nature of fog, which led to cutting a pair of Concord & 9th Give Thanks vellum die cuts.

The die cuts are placed over and under an MFT sentiment strip and finished with a trio of enamel dots.

Check out the design team cards for more great ideas!

Freshly Made Sketches #406

I'm excited to be the designer of our sketch this week and love the cards created by the Clean Team!

We are impatiently waiting for dear friends to welcome their first grandchild which led me to make a new baby card. The baby gender is unknown, but I have a strong feeling I went with the correct color choice. If I'm wrong, I'll happily make a blue version and pop this one away for another day.

The MFT Beautiful Baby sentiment and a few cluster of stars are clear embossed on a white panel before being inked with Spin Sugar Distress Ink. A tiny bit of Picked Raspberry Distress Ink is added to the center and then both colors inked on a die cut heart.

I hope you are inspired to join us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

Freshly Made Sketches #405

Judy Rozema designed a fun sketch for us this week that is perfect for highlighting so many different images. Leafs, bats and ornaments went through my mind before I decided to play with snowflakes.

The Hero Arts Christmas sentiment is stamped on the pale aqua panel first before adding the glitter paper snowflakes. The two larger ones are PTI Silver White Winter die cuts and the smallest is a Martha Stewart punch.

I hope you join us at Freshly Made Sketches this week. Check out the Clean Team Designer cards for more inspiration!

CASology Challenge 353: FEATHER

It takes more self-control than I have to resist a feather stamp and/or die, so my big challenge was deciding which set to use for this card.

Once I saw this sweet set of Poppystamps Tiny Feathers cut from a scrap of watercolor paper leftover from another project, the decision was made. A Poppystamps Birthday Blowout sentiment is stamped on the panel first and then the feathers were adhered. Quick, clean and simple.

The design team has fabulous cards!
