CASology Week 264: SQUARE

Welcome to Week 264 at CASology!

I interpreted our cue word this week in the easiest way possible, starting with making a 5x5 square base for my card.

A bright pink Papertrey Ink sentiment die cut is added to a white square panel, then framed with an aqua pinked square panel before being added to the card base.  The always hard to photograph Wink of Stella adds a bit of shine to the sentiment and a scatter of enamel dot confetti adds a bit of fun.

CAS(E) This Sketch #236

Sadly,  I've had to replenish my stash of sympathy cards with three friends losing their fathers in the last month. I used the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch #236 for this card.

The panel was masked and lightly inked with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink first and then the Concord & 9th Tree Ring stamp added. An Altenew sentiment is stamped on a light gray flag and adheres along the bottom of the inked panel.

A simple white Memory Box Massa Leaf die cut replaces the circle element on the sketch.

Muse #230 + Just Us Girls #408

I picked up this sweet Lawn Fawn Aloha stamp set a while back and was happy to pull it out after seeing Kim's card for Muse #230 and the inspiration photo for Just Us Girls #408.

I love the scale of Kim's pineapple so had mine take up a little more visual space by mounting the circle panel on a black circle before popping them up on the card base. The black circle is barely bigger than the pineapple panel but gives me the black edge I was looking for and echoes the black embellishments on Kim's card.

A few enamel dots add interest, reflect the party atmosphere of the inspiration photo and expand the circle a bit more.

CASology Week 263: BUD

Welcome to Week 263 at CASology!

Our sponsor this week, Kitty Bee Designs, generously gave the Design Team a couple of images to play with for our BUD challenge. I wanted to pop up the flower this sweet bunny is holding and add a sentiment tag underneath it, so enlarged the image and printed it twice.

My second flower is inked with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and then the center is colored with a Copic marker.  It is popped up over the other flower and the tag is tucked under it.

There are definitely a few different directions to go in with this cue word. Check out the terrific Design Team cards for more inspiration!

Muse #229 + Memory Box: Go With the Flow + Seize the Birthday + SSS: Add a Sentiment

I was happy to have some crafting time today and created a card that fits four challenges. My first inspiration is Tracey's pretty card for Muse #229 and making it an undersea design with my octopus die fits Memory Box: Go With the Flow. Making it a birthday card fits both Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes and the Wednesday Challenge Blog at Simon Says Stamp where Add a Sentiment is the challenge.

I'm trying to love my Oxide Distress Inks, but just don't feel the colors are as vibrant as Distress Inks. Owen the Octopus is cut from an Oxide Ink panel that was sprinkled with water, but I redid the balloons with Distress Inks. The strings for the balloons are extra octopus arms - I'm happy with the way this experiment worked!

A few raindrops add interest and the Paper Smooches sentiment finishes off this card.

CASology Week 262: PRICKLY

Welcome to Week 262 at CASology!

I suspect a lot of us had the same first thought on seeing this week's cue card. My mind immediately went to succulents and cacti, so I pulled out an Impress Succulents stamp set.

The image is colored with Copic markers and then a Mama Elephant sentiment heat embossed on a black flag finishes off the card.

The Design Team cards are fun and inspiring!

CASology Week 261: SAFARI

Welcome to Week 261 at CASology!

Facebook allowed me to follow friends on a real safari earlier this year and just reinforced that giraffes are at the top of my list of animals to see in the wild one day. I knew I wanted to use my Poppystamps Giraffe Trio dies with SAFARI  as our cue word but it took a while to figure out what kind of card.

This Avery Elle So Happy sentiment jumped out as I was looking for inspiration and the card came together very quickly. Two giraffes were die cut from black cardstock and inlaid into the panel, the sentiment stamped and a bright red heart added.

The Design Team cards are terrific!

CASology Week 260: JUICY

Welcome to Week 260 at CASology!

My first thought when I saw this cue word was juicy news and immediately went looking for my Paper Smooches Boob Tube stamp set.

I love the lines of this retro TV, colored it with Copic markers and added a couple of sentiments. The square stitched panel is popped up on a gray card base.

The Design Team cards are fun this week!
