Freshly Made Sketches #533

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #533!

I had a few ideas swirling in my head for Jennifer Brum's fabulous sketch and put the brakes on them all after seeing Lisa Petrella's fun card for FMS532 last week. She used strips of patterned paper to create a panel and the strips reminded me of Jen's three vertical panels or strips.

A few ancient paper pads were pulled out, with the beach papers quickly making their way to the top of the pile. The first two strips are from Carta Bella's Beach Boardwalk line and the sunny stripe is from Pink Paislee's Solstice.

A simple MFT Essential Sentiment is stamped in navy blue and popped up over the patterned panel. While flipping through embossing folders looking for a curved line I came across this panel. Since I don't recognized the pattern, I'm assuming it is something borrowed and run through the Big Shot while crafting with friends.

I thought it was the perfect extra to finish off this design and keep it neutral enough to go into the masculine birthday pile.

Freshly Made Sketches #532

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #532!

Clean Team Designer Kim Singdahlsen's fabulous sketch was perfect for inspiring a wedding card needed this weekend.

The versatile Poppystamps Silver Bells die is being used for wedding bells and cut from Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust Sparkle cardstock. The inside of the bells are colored with a Copic marker for a bit of dimension and tied with a couple strands of peach fiber before being added to the corner of the Mini-scalloped stitched panel.

An MFT Essentials sentiment is heat embossed for a clean and simple finish.

Freshly Made Sketches #531

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #531!

I had fun with Clean Team designer Linda Callahan's sketch this week! A few people in my life have been sick with good old fashioned colds lately so I thought a Get Well card was needed and Linda's horizontal lines had me thinking of the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo edge punch.

The green edge was cut first and then a line of thin washi tape added to make the second line. A Taylored Expressions Wheely Great sentiment is stamped on the white panel and a couple images from PTI Funky Florals provide one of the squares from the sketch. The gooey bugs are made with Lawn Fawn Monster Mash images and colored with Copic Markers.

Freshly Made Sketches #530

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #530!

The first thought I had after looking at Jen Mitchell's terrific offset panel was to wrap it around the back of the card base, so I did. I think it is my favorite part of this design.

Still adding to the masculine birthday stash, a favorite tree stamp and die were pulled out today. The Concord & 9th Tree Ring Background image is stamped in lime green on a kraft MFT Mod Rectangle die cut panel first and the Memory Box Arboscello tree cut three times.

The trees are layered with dark green on the bottom, kraft next and a light green on top.

For a little extra interest and dimension, several green and tan Distress Inks were blended over the tree and the MFT Bitty Birthday Wishes sentiment strip. The sentiment gave me a giggle and seemed completely appropriate paired with the tree rings.

I am linking this to Seize the Birthday #235 in the Anything Goes category.

CASology Challenge #402: FLUFFY

 Welcome to CASology Challenge #402!

These sweet PTI Simply Spring Borders bunnies came to mind immediately when I saw the cue word this month. The border stamp was masked to center five of the bunnies in the MFT Stitched Mini-Scallop Rectangle panel.

The Paper Smooches Critter Card Puns sentiment fit the mood of the card. After playing around a bit, only three of the bunnies were given mini felt ball tails to add to the fluffy theme.

Check out the fabulous design team cards!
