Freshly Made Sketches #483

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #483!

The queen of layering, Narelle Farrugia, has given us a terrific sketch to work with this week! I interpreted it very literally from the ink splats (way out of my comfort zone!) to the flower and leaves.

Memory Box Forget Me Not Blooms are paired with Pretty Pink Posh Cherry Blossoms leaves and layered around a doily style circle die cut. The MFT Bitty Birthday Wishes sentiment is nestled into place to finish the design.

I hope you check out the fabulous Clean Team cards and play along with us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

CASology Challenge #389: DEAR

 Welcome to CASology Challenge #389!

I was surprised to discover only a few sentiments in my stamp collection included the word "dear", but  knew right away this MFT All Above You set was what I would be using this week.

The PTI Birthday Style balloon is stamped first and then the YOU partially masked and layered over it. The biggest decision for this design were what colors to use!

The design team has fabulous cards this week!

Freshly Made Sketch #482

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #482!

Karren has given us a really cool sketch this week! I knew immediately that I was going to use Papertrey Ink's Lift Me Up stamps and dies for the larger panel but was a little stumped on what to use for the smaller panel.

I was thinking a mountain top or tree could fit the sketch and my scene, when I flipped past the Impress Seattle Skyline die and changed direction. To stay true to the sketch, I trimmed the die cut to fit the bottom right corner.

Freshly Made Sketches #481

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #481!

Clean Team designer Cécile Ribon has given us one of my favorite type of sketches to work with this week. I usually would turn to my small dies for a grid like this, but instead turned to a PTI Sketched Shapes simple circle stamp. I played with a number of color palettes before deciding this pink/aqua/orange combination was going on the final design.

I also turned to an older stamp set for the sentiment as this Avery Elle Oh Happy Day fit the mood and left the design flexible enough to be used for a birthday or congratulations card.

I hope you check out the Clean Team cards and join in the fun with us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

CASology Challenge #388: HELLO

 Welcome to CASology Challenge #388!

I love a cue word as simple as HELLO! I knew I was going to use MFT Greetings and Salutations sentiments in brightly colored speech bubbles but wanted to add something more to the background.

A flip through my stencils gave me what I was looking for. To keep the design from getting too busy, I masked off part of the stencil before applying the gloss gel paste which gives a nice finish.

Check out the terrific design team cards for more ideas!

Freshly Made Sketch #480

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #480!

I admit I was a little intimidated by Jen's fabulous sketch this week until I thought about how I could arrange elements to give the illusion of a curved line. Butterflies were the first thing I thought of, although I almost immediately switched to cherry blossoms after seeing a few gorgeous trees in bloom on social media.

The Pretty Pink Posh Cherry Blossoms are stamped and embossed on watercolor paper before being colored with Kitsch Pink Distress Ink. While they dried, the curved line is added on a white panel using a Tim Holtz Burlap stencil. A little more color is added after the stencil is removed to soften the lines.

A few Pretty Pink Posh jewels add a bit of shine and the MFT Bitty Birthday Wishes sentiment is tucked in place.

The Clean Team has amazing cards to inspire you this week! I hope you will plan along with us at Freshly Made Sketches!

I'm linking this card to Seize the Birthday #211 in the Anything Goes category.
