Freshly Made Sketches #622

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #622!

Super talented Clean Team designer, Jen Mitchell, has provided a fun sketch this week! It was easy to pivot to a quick and easy birthday card after my daughter poked through my stash looking for something pink without success.

A piece of MFT patterned paper is cut for a base panel and then a smaller rectangle measured and cut from it for the smaller panel. This smaller piece is adhered to a bright pink rectangle and popped up over the base piece with foam adhesive.

The MFT Hand Lettered Happy Birthday die is cut from white and two shades of pink cardstock. I played around a bit with the order before decided the darkest pink on top look best. A simple strip of pom-pom trim finishes the card.

Freshly Made Sketches #621

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #621!

The sketch this week comes from our talented Clean Team leader, Jen Timko! It took me a bit of time to decide what I wanted to do with the circle elements. I knew the middle circle would be a heart pretty quickly, but it took time for me to reach for the MFT High-Rise Alphabet dies and pull out the "X" for another hugs & kisses design this week.

I fully intended to make a square card, but pulled out a rectangle panel to selectively emboss with the Taylored Expressions Heart to Heart stencil. The Hero Arts molding paste is colored with Festive Berries Distress Ink first.

While the paste dried, the vellum heart is attached to the Xs. I pulled out both an older Making Memories stapler with red staples and the smaller Tiny Attacher. Even though I decided to stick with the smaller staples, somehow, I ended up accidentally using both. This trio is attached to the panel with glue dots in the center of each X to allow a bit of movement and the feeling they are floating.

The Poppystamps Sentiments of Love die finishes the panel which is popped up on the card front.

Freshly Made Sketches #620

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #620!

I am hosting the challenge this week and created a sketch that allows for a lot of flexibility. The circles can be any shape, hold a sentiment or focal design element: really pretty much anything goes!

The MFT Love You Gnome Matter What image is stamped on white cardstock, colored with Copic markers and then masked to allow a pale sky background to be blended behind it. The finished panel is cut out with a Stitched Circle die and mounted on the red MFT Stitched Mini-Scallop circle

The "XO" Alphabet die cuts provides a simple sentiment and finishes the design.

Freshly Made Sketches #619

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #619!

I love this fabulous sketch designed by our super talented Judy Rozema! I knew almost immediately that I wanted to create something with a postage stamp look for the square element, but went through numerous ideas and color palettes before settling on this red, white and blue design.

A happy find was the airmail stripe image in an older Simon Says Stamp Sending Happy Thoughts stamp set to use for the vertical element. It is stamped in red first and then the strip was shifted to stamp the blue.

The postage stamp is created using images from Kerri Bradford Southern California stamp set and cut with a Spellbinders die. The SSS Sending die cut layered over the stamp provides the first half of the sentiment and an MFT Bitty Birthday Wishes finishes it off.

I am also linking this card to Seize the Birthday Challenge #275 in the Anything Goes category.

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #618!

The always elegant Clean Team designer, Cécile Ribon, has given us a lovely sketch to work with this week! As you can see, I interpreted it very literally.

After playing around with a few brushstroke stamps and different color palettes, I settled on the MFT Paint Strokes stencil and Altenew shades of green inks to create a base for the The Stamp Market Greenery image. It and the Technique Tuesday So Sorry sentiment are added with Versamark ink. The simple panel is popped up on a white card base for a bit of interest and dimension.

Freshly Made Sketches #617

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #617!

Happy New Year and welcome to our first sketch of 2024 from the Clean Team designer and queen of layering, Narelle Farrugia! It really is a coincidence that the Papertrey Ink She Moves stamps were sitting on my desk the same week many of us are renewing health and fitness commitments. It is in the pile of "use it or donate" stamps and I think it earned a place in the "keep" pile.

The trio of images were perfect for the sketch. Scraps of white cardstock are inked in three shades of blue and die cut before the images are added in black and lined up to sit on the sentiment strip. The Ali Edwards Progress Story stamp provides an encouraging sentiment.
