Freshly Made Sketches #517

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #517!

I hope you have had a great winter break and are ready to create again! I absolutely adore Amy O'Neill's fun sketch for this week and immediately starting thinking about balloons.

The Poppystamps Love Balloons dies are cut in pink and red and tied with a single thread of white floss first before the floss is slipped through the PTI Fresh Florals Wrap Ups tag and sentiment.

The floss is tied at the back of the tag before it is popped up on the panel.

The Clean Team has fabulous designs this week! I hope you play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jacquie

CASology Challenge #399

 Welcome to CASology Challenge #399!

We have a great cue word for the beginning of a new year! Renew might apply to resolutions, diet and exercise commitments, wedding vows and anniversaries, garden planning and looking forward to spring or reconnecting with friends after the holiday break.

The last little bit I've hit renew on the library website more times than I should and one of my goals this year is to read the books I checkout in a timely manner. Thinking of renewing books had me looking at a few older library check out card stamps.

The unknown source library check out card image* is stamped on white cardstock first and then the sentiment stamped using Kerri Bradford Willow Lower Alphabet and an image from PTII Monthly Moment Library Card.

The card is adhered at an angle and tucked into the PTI Library Pocket die cut.

Check out the fabulous design team cards!

We are looking forward to seeing how RENEW inspires you - just remember to keep it Clean & Simple! This is a month long challenge, so you have until 9 AM Monday, January 31st (CMT) to link your card to the CASology blog.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jacquie

*following up on Bobby's suggestion that the library card image is from Papertrey Ink and a quick internet search, it looks like it is the PTI Library Card Mini Stamp sold as a stand along image.

January Guest at Poppystamps!

 January Guest Designer at Poppystamps!

Challenge Badge copy

I was thrilled when Poppystamps Design Team member, Kim Singdahlsen, invited me to be her Guest for the January Poppy Challenge PSC#88: Happy Birthday!

2022-01 copy

You need to use at least one Poppystamps image on your entry to the challenge. Cards, page layouts, tags, mixed media and home decor projects are all welcome!

I am always adding to my collection of Poppystamps dies and stamps and used a mix of old and new that is perfect for a masculine birthday card.

I picked up the Tall Curve Background die a while ago and have been adding Tall Curve Border dies to my collection regularly ever since. The Art Deco Curve Border is my most recent addition and is cut from gold paper and adhered to navy background panels.

An Oval Fold Frame is cut from another piece of navy cardstock. This panel provides a guide for the Deco Birthday Greeting sentiment to be selectively stamped directly on the white card base. The navy portion is inked and stamped first and then the gold portion heat embossed with some of the gold overlapping the navy.

After the sentiment is stamped, the oval frame is adhered to the card base and the gold panels adhered to the oval frame.

I hope you play along with the PSC #88: Happy Birthday. A randomly chosen winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to shop for more Poppystamps stamps and dies!
