Freshly Made Sketches #509

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #509!

Clean Team designer Jennifer Timko has given us a fun slimline sketch to work with this week. I played around with a few ideas, all involving snowflakes, before deciding to make the squares into three individual shaker boxes.

Three squares were cut from the scalloped edge panel first and then the three MFT Stitched Square Scallop frames die cuts were adhered to frame the openings. A transparency is adhered to the back of the panel and then foam adhesive added to frame the shaker boxes. The sequins, coarse glitter and snowflakes were piled on the card base and then the white panel added to seal them into place.

A trio of older Taylored Expressions snowflakes and platinum embossed sentiment  finish the design.

Freshly Made Sketches #508

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #508!

I'm excited to be hosting the challenge this week and created this sketch with a borrowed stamp in mind.

A couple of weeks ago I had a long overdue crafting day with friends and fell in love with the  CAS-ual Fridays Flowery Background stamp. Joyce Mehrberg generously let me take it home to play around a bit with heat embossing and watercoloring this fabulous explosion of flowers.

A deep pink panel is cut in half and adhered to the top and bottom of the card base first before the watercolored panel is popped up over it. The Avery Elle Thanks a Bunch sentiment is stamped on a PTI
tag, layered with a couple other tags and tied with twine before being added to the watercolored panel.

I'm linking this card to Seize the Birthday #225 in the Anything Goes option.

Freshly Made Sketches #507

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #507!

The sketch this week is provided by the talented Clean Team Designer, Judy Rozema. I love the way she placed the large circle and banner element extending past the center panel!

I saw the circles as flowers and pulled out Poppystamps Blooming Poinsettia and Small Blooming Poinsettia dies and started cutting red cardstock. I love that these dies can work together and used the medium and small layers of the first set with the largest layer from the smaller set to make the big flower.

An MFT Bitty Holiday Wishes sentiment is heat embossed on the black banner and layered over the large poinsettia. The smaller flower is added along with a few Pretty Pink Posh jewels to add a festive finish to the design.

Freshly Made Sketches #506

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #506!

Diagonal lines in a sketch are always a bit of a challenge for me, but I have to thank Clean Team designer Amy O'Neill for pushing me out of my comfort zone this week. I really love the way this design turned out.

The Simon Says Stamp Alexis snowflake die is cut three times and layered with a white cardstock base, a vellum center and a glitter cardstock top. My first thought was to run diagonal lines of smaller snowflakes but I didn't like the look and decided to play around with the vellum.

The Stamp Market Quick Strip dies were used to cut 1/2 inch vellum strips and 1/8 inch glitter paper strips that were alternated to form the diagonal panel. An MFT Snow Globe Sentiment is heat embossed on the last vellum strip before it was added to the panel.

A few smaller glitter paper snowflakes cut for Plan A finish this design.

CASology Challenge #396: VIEW

 Welcome to CASology Challenge #396!

I am excited to see how the cue word inspires you this month! Do you think of the view through a window, your favorite view, a seasonal view or something else? Don't overthink the cue word, even the view of a birthday candle, cake or balloon works.

I was inspired by a few Kerri Bradford stamps sets to create a simple design highlighting some of my favorite views at one of my favorite places: palm trees and waves in the sunshine at the beach.

The sentiment from Waves is stamped first and then surrounded with pops of color from the palm tree and waves stamps from the Southern California set. The sun came from a BoBunny Adventure Icons stamp set. The stamped panel is cut with an MFT Wonky Stitched Square die before being popped up on the aqua card base.

Check out the fabulous design team cards!
