Freshly Make Sketches #537

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #537!

Clean Team designer Judy Rozema has given us a really fun sketch this week! My design started with the circle element, where I knew I would be using a balloon and making a birthday card, but I kind of stalled out with what to do with the angled panel.

It was while playing around with a few ideas from Heather Hoffman's Day 4 Emboss Resist techniques from the Online Card Class, Spring Card Camp 2022, that an idea came together.

The MFT Happy Birthday Text background stamp is clear embossed on a white panel and then the Taylored Expressions Big Bold Balloons stencil used to selectively add balloons over the text. You can see the magic as the text resists the ink.

An MFT Bitty Birthday sentiment is embossed on a black flag for contrast and the largest Poppystamps Celebration Balloons die cut is added to finish the card.

Freshly Made Sketches #536

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #536!

Clean Team designer Karren Johnson gave me the perfect sketch to make a last minute anniversary card for my husband. This isn't the first year the date has snuck up on us and, as expected, he laughed at the sentiment.

The Stamp Market Big Bold Number dies are perfect for a couple of the circle elements. The base number is cut from Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust glitter cardstock and layered with a red outline piece. An ancient MFT Clearly Sentimental About Anniversaries sentiment is heat embossed on a vellum banner and adhered to the back of the 2 before they are layered on the heart embossed panel.

A PTI From the Heart die cut takes the place of the third circle to finish the design.

Freshly Made Sketches #535

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #535!

I love Amy O’Neill’s fun sketch this week and it completely inspired me to make a graduation card.

The PTI layered star tag, circle and graduation cap dies were the first things pulled and cut in the colors of a local high school.

I went back and forth on the sentiment before deciding on this joyful option from MFT Yay stamp set. This also meant taking creative license and moving the sentiment from the suggested spot in the sketch.

Everything is layered and added to the star embossed panel to finish the design.

Freshly Made Sketches #534

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #534!

I adore the elegant, airy feel of Cécile Ribon's sketch this week and played with a few ideas before settling on a little bit more of a clunky design.

The airy swipes became the inked blended ocean and partially stamped Concord & 9th Map Love world map. An Ali Edwards Roam Story Stamp (July 2020 kit) sentiment pairs perfectly with the Simply Graphic VW Bus die cut.

This card is for my VW Bus loving DH who dreams of roaming the globe in the new electric version due out in a 2024. I'm trying to figure out how to operate a mobile craft room so I can join him.

CASology Challenge #403: BOTANICAL

Welcome to CASology Challenge #403: BOTANICAL!

It's going to be a fun month looking at all your BOTANICAL inspired creations! I pulled out a bunch of little flower dies to fill the Simply Graphics Cornets À Fleurs bouquet wrapper die cut. This may be a bit busier and more layered than typical clean and simple designs, but still follows the rule to leave lots of white space for the eye to rest.

A simple sentiment from Avery Elle Thanks a Bunch finishes the design.

Check out the terrific design team cards!
