Freshly Made Sketches #470

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #470!

The talented Jennifer Brum has given us a very classic sketch with tremendous versatility this week. I usually start designing with a sentiment, but this week it was the corners that I tackled first, quickly deciding I wanted to feature a couple layered butterflies dies.

The Memory Box Drifting Side Butterfly die is my absolute favorite and the Poppystamps Cheviot and Delaney dies pair so prettily with it. I cut the white outline pieces first, used them to help position and blend ink on a white panel and then cut the base pieces.

A search through the large sentiment stamps and dies uncovered a saved ombre inked PTI Big Basics die cut discarded from some long ago project. The color and size were so perfect I had to use it! Once again my cloud stencil helped softened the white panel and ground the sentiment. The only thing left to do was add a trio of tiny Memory Box Mini Butterflies.

Freshly Made Sketches #469

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #469!

I had a completely different design planned for Kim's great sketch this week. Ombre strips, leaves and butterflies were ready to go when I started flipping through my stencils to add a little something to the background. The MFT Sunrise Radiating Rays caught my attention as it reminded me so much of the sketch.

I pulled out a few Distress Inks and played around a bit, graduating the color away from the bottom half of the panel and adding a touch of orange to the sun/circle and a few of the (sort of) horizontal lines. A sentiment from Avery Elle Oh Happy Day fit perfectly.

The sentiment is stamped in black first,  then again with VersaMark and sprinkled with holographic embossing powder to a touch of glitter and shine.

I hope you check out the Clean Team designs for inspiration and play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

CASology Challenge #382

 Welcome to CASology Challenge #382!

I have a feeling our cue word will inspire more than a few wedding, Valentine and miss you type cards this week. I went through a lot of ideas before settling on this design.

The Concord & 9th Map Love earth image is stamped in a soft blue, the MFT Bitty Holiday Wishes sentiment added next and then the Memory Box Groovy Symbols peace sign die cut adhered. Things are never as fast and easy as they look. As you may have guessed, deciding what color peace sign to use was not easy.

The design team has terrific ideas this week!

Freshly Made Sketches #468

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #468!

Linda Callahan has designed a fabulous sketch this week! I created a multipurpose card that can be used for a birthday or any occasion you want to celebrate with friends like the (hopefully one day) end of a global pandemic.

My initial plan stayed true to the landscape orientation with 5 drinks but when I decided to use a MFT fishtail flag die to back the focal point panel, the balance didn't feel right and I turned the card and dropped a couple drinks.

The sentiment pairs MFT's Cheers die and a Spirited Sentiments stamp while the vellum and cardstock cocktails are created with Impression Obsession Mixed Drinks dies.

I hope you check out the Clean Team designs at Freshly Made Sketches and join in the fun!

I am also linking this card to Seize the Birthday #205 in the Anything Goes category.

CASology Challenge 380

 Welcome to CASology Challenge #380!

Welcome to 2021 everyone! I'm adding my card to the reminder post for the Memories challenge at CASology. I wanted to replenish my stack of sympathy cards as, sadly, I've had to send out quite a few in the last year.

The sentiment comes from a very old MFT Clearly Sentimental About Sympathy stamp set and is surrounded by a watercolored feather and Nuvo drops.

Check out the design team cards for more inspiration!

Freshly Made Sketches #467

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #467!

I treated myself to a few crafting goodies during the holiday sales and was happy to see Jen's fun slimline sketch which meant I could put my new MFT Slimline Starter Die-namics to good use. The clouds were stenciled on the stitched panel first and then a partially inked MFT Greetings and Salutations sentiment was added to the bottom right corner.

The MFT Well Hello die cut provides the first part of the sentiment and is layered with a couple vellum clouds leftover from a previous project. Another vellum cloud is added in the bottom right corner to anchor the Avery Elle Numbered Balloon dies which are arranged to loosely follow the layered circles in the sketch.
