CASology Week 280: KINDNESS

Welcome to Week 280 at CASology!

I love ending the year with KINDNESS as our cue word! It is an incredibly busy time of year and we are giving you an extra week to join us with your cards in the gallery. This card is for all of YOU that visit my blog, leaving lovely comments and words of encouragement. I have met so many generous, creative card makers who share the love of ink and paper and get the need to make things and am forever thankful for the power of the internet to connect us.

This card uses stamps and dies from the PTI Scripted set. The stamped sentiment is heat embossed on the panel first and then Wilted Violet Distress Ink added through the Arch mask. The die cut sentiment and a trio of tiny sequins are added to finish off the card.

Check out the Design Team cards for more terrific ideas!

CASology Week 279: GRAY

Welcome to Week 279 at CASology!

I love GRAY as a neutral color, especially paired with aqua, red, pink or yellow. It is also a great color to use for a somber or subdued card. I wanted a little more of a subdued tone for this Christmas card heading to a cousins that lost their father/grandfather a month ago.

An older MFT wreath is cut from three different shades of gray cardstock and layered on a white card base. The Altenew sentiment is added in Memento Gray Flannel ink. The red bow and rhinestone add just a touch of color.

The Design Team has plenty of terrific inspiration this week!

CASology Week 278: STORMY

Welcome to Week 278 at CASology!

It took me a while to figure out what direction to go with STORMY as our cue word, but after thinking a bit I realized whenever things get stormy around here there is one person that keeps me grounded more than anyone and that is my sweet husband. He really is my anchor.

I used stamps and a die from Wplus9 Dockside stamp set and a nautical color palette.

The Design Team has fabulous cards to inspire you!

CASology Week 277: ROUND

Welcome to Week 277 at CASology!

Kitty Bee Designs generously provided the Design Team with a couple of digital images to play with this week. I choose to create a card with the adorable Snow Penguin, holding the ROUND snowball, and placed her in a ROUND panel.

The image is colored with Copic markers, then masked to create a snow line and softly inked sky. Wink of Stella adds a frosty shine to the snow on the ground, the snowball and part of the MFT Hand Lettered Holiday sentiment.

25 Days of Christmas Tag Day 19 & Day 21 + CHA 2017 Holiday Blog Hop Winner

I am finally back to making tags inspired by Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017. The inspiration part of the event is over, but you still have until December 1st to comment and link your own tags.

This first tag is a CASE of one of Lindsey's tags for Day 19. I stamped the same Technique Tuesday sentiment in red, added a couple of holly leaves and gold rimmed, ruby gem stickers for the berries.

Using a PTI luggage style tag allowed me to add a stitched frame around the sentiment for a little more interest.

This second tag was inspired by Deborah Frings' heat embossed and inked snowflake tags from Day 21.

The Lawn Fawn Merry Messages sentiment and stars are heat embossed on the tag before the Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet Distress inks were blended over them.

A trio of bells are added to the silver cord before it is tied off at the top of the tag.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment on the Craft Hoarders Anonymous 2017 Holiday Blog Hop. The winner of my random draw is Karen Ladd with comment #11!

CASology Week 276: CHEER

Welcome to Week 276 at CASology!

I love a cue word that can be used in a number of ways. My expectation is the gallery will be full of  cheer up/get well cards, congratulations, encouragement and birthday cards this week!

I inked a couple stamps from the Mama Elephant Celebration set, colored the balloons with Copic markers and popped the MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle panel onto a white cardbase.

Check out the terrific Design Team cards for more inspiration!

Craft Hoarders Anonymous 2017 Holiday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Craft Hoarders Anonymous
2017 Holiday Blog Hop!

You should be arriving here from Marisa Jobs' blog, Designs by Marisa!  If you want to start from the beginning of the Blog Hop, head over to Gloria Stengel's Scraps of Life.

Have you caught the Traveler's Notebook bug? I sure have and decided to make myself a Holiday Planner using a plain, blank 4 1/4 x 8 1/4 notebook.

The papers used on this project are from Carta Bella's Christmas Delivery line or Photo Play's Mad 4 Plaid Christmas. A pocket page is created from cardstock and added inside the front cover using washi tape to adher it along the spine on both sides.

A small monthly calendar is added with a flap to the side of a two page perpetual style calendar layout. I find this format works really well to add events as the month starts to fill up.

The next section is for baking and meal planning, including Christmas dinner, during the holidays. We have some tried and true treats that have to be made every year and I'll add anything new that catches my eye. You can see that several blank pages are left between the section dividers.

I have a section for gift buying and family member wish lists, a section for card making ideas and the annual family letter (sometimes Haiku style or screen shots of text conversation between family members) and a section for miscellaneous items I don't want to forget.

The completed notebook sits in a folder and travels with me everywhere from now until the end of December.

Before you head to the next stop on the Hop, Amber Milone at Pink Chic Paper Design,  I am giving away this Gossamer Blue Traveler's Notebook Kit in a random draw. The kit includes a notebook, selection of coordinating papers, stickers and embellishments. Just comment on this blog post before Sunday, November 26th by 6 pm PST to be eligible!

CASology Week 275: SHARP

Welcome to Week 275 at CASology!

I have to admit this week's cue word had me going in circles for a while. I initially thought of creating a sewing themed card, then was distracted by a sharp toothed shark image before deciding to use a Savvy stag's head die to make a fun Christmas card.

The die is cut four times, with the antlers removed from three of the diecuts, before they are adhered together and the stack is adhered to the card base over a Mama Elephant Jingle Greeting. The little bells are strung on a gold cord and caught in the sharp antlers to finish off this card. I'm really happy with the way this card turned out and wish it was a little more mailable (if that's a word 😆).

The Design Team has a whole range of sharp ideas this week!

I'm linking this card to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where this week Simon Says Snow White.

We are looking forward to seeing how SHARP inspires you - just remember to keep it Clean & Simple! You have until Monday at noon (CMT) to link your card to the CASology blog.

25 Days of Christmas Tags Day 4 & Day 5

I have a couple more tags to share as I play along with Tracey McNeeley's 7th Annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags challenge.

Amy Rohl's sweet elf tag on Day 4 caught my eye and inspired me to pull out an MFT Jingle All the Way Santa image and pair it with an MFT Gift Tag Greetings sentiment to create this tag.

This second tag is inspired by Virginia Lu's fun star tags from Day 5 of the challenge.

The aqua star die cut is embossed with stars and adhered it to a white star for more stability. The PTI jingle die cut is layered three times before being adhered to the star and the heat embossed sentiment from PTI's Traveler's Journal added next.

A trio of bells is added to the Baker's twine before it is tied to finish off the tag.
