Freshly Made Sketches #500!!!!

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #500!

I am thrilled to be back in the craft room with Clean Team designer Linda Callahan's fabulous sketch for our milestone celebration!

Things have been quiet around here as I spent the last month or so helping my daughter settle into her new life in Vancouver. While it was awesome to catch up with family and friends, I was starting to miss my home routines and creative outlets.

Following the sketch closely,  a rectangle panel is inked in my favorite sunrise/sunset colors to allow the white Penny Black Bashful Flower to pop. It is adhered to another white panel with an embossed diagonal line and the MFT Well Hello sentiment popped up over it and woven into the flower stem.

To help celebrate this amazing milestone, a number of our favorite stamp companies are sponsoring prizes this week. Everyone who plays along is eligible to win one in a random draw after the link closes. Please check the Freshly Made Sketches post for all the details!

In addition, I have a prize this week as well. Anyone who comments on this post before Tuesday, August 31st will be entered into the random draw for a set of My Favorite Things Skinny Strips dies and the sweetest set of washi tape.

I look forward to seeing your fabulous creations in the gallery!

Thanks for stopping by,

Jacquie

Freshly Made Sketches #497

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #497!

I am hosting the challenge this week and came up with a sketch that was designed around a couple sentiment strips. Of course, you can add your sentiment anywhere and do something entirely different for the strips!

The Rubbernecker Layered Poppy stamp is heat embossed on watercolor paper before being watercolored. Although I have always loved red poppies, the orange California poppy has really stolen my heart in the last few years and seemed appropriate for wedding wishes from us California relatives to my nephew and his fiance.

An MFT Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp is paired with the MFT Document It - Off the Chart stamp to make the full sentiment on the two strips. Twine wrapped around the panel provides the vertical strip and completes the design.

I  look forward to seeing how you are inspired by the sketch this week! Check out the Clean Team designs and play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

CASology Challenge #394: MASK

 Welcome to CASology Challenge #394!

After a year plus of mask having a very defined meaning, it took me a minute to think of what else I could do with the cue word this week. A quick check with my Evernote inventory reminded me about the PTI Superhero Stamps and dies and this card quickly came together.

I did play around a bit with the colors and pulled a starburst stamp from the PTI Zappy Birthday set to layer with the dots before deciding to stick to a yellow, black and white palette.

I don't think I shared here the Christmas card sent to most family and friends last year, which also fits the mask challenge. The Spellbinders Santa is wearing a pale blue crepe paper mask creating using an oval die cut.

Check out the terrific design team cards and join in the fun this month!
