Freshly Made Sketches #422

Clean Team designer Linda Callahan has given us a terrific sketch this week!

I pulled out a few panel dies and a Memory Box Small Alder Tree die cut to layer for my design. Although I love the twine bow in the sketch, it was fighting with the tree branches, so I replaced it with the vertical lines of a woodgrain embossing folder.

The MFT Greetings and Salutations sentiment is heat embossed on a black strip to finish the card.

Freshly Made Sketches #421

I admit I struggled a bit with Jen's sketch this week and resorted to cleaning off my desk while design ideas popped in and out of my head. It was when I came across a 6x6 paper pad that I'd picked up to use for masculine cards that I had a lightbulb moment. For few years I've loved using tartan wrapping papers for the men in my life and suddenly I knew the rounded square panel would become a tartan wrapped gift box.

A square die created the gift box from the designer paper while the lid and the tag were cut from dark gray cardstock scraps. The PTI Hashtag Everything sentiment is heat embossed on the tag before it is  tied to the gift with green twine.

A warm gray Copic marker is swiped over the white embossing to mute the brightness and the gift adhered to an embossed light gray panel.

The Clean Team has terrific cards to inspire you this week - we hope you join us and play along!

I'm also linking this card to Seize the Birthday in the Anything Goes category.

CASology Challenge #361: SWEETHEART

Just in time for Valentine's Day, we have a great cue word to inspire you! It is also perfect for a new baby, wedding, anniversary or special birthday card!!

I stamped and heat embossed a PTI Penned Elegance sentiment and Lawn Fawn swirly heart on a watercolor paper panel before using a heart die to make a stencil/mask.

Using a Wine Red Zig Real Brush marker and a water pen, a few layers of color are added in the heart shape. The dry panel is finally popped up on a pink card base to finish this card.

The design team has terrific cards to inspire you!
