Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #408!
This versatile sketch comes to us from Clean Team Designer Jennifer Timko! I have been playing around with The Stamp Market Love & Cookies stamps and dies and decided the rectangular panel would become a cookie gift box.
The cookies were all stamped, cut and colored with Copic markers. The blue circles were then stamped and heat embossed with a snowflake and all the cookies coated with Glossy Accents to give them a royal icing finish with micro bead "nonpareils" added to the stars and trees.
A couple of layers of the MFT frame create the edge of the gift box and tissue paper is added to the center with the cookies layered on top.
With this stamp set out, I decided to play along with the Twofer Card Challenge #21: Sweets, and used the star cookie to make a card to go along with a new baby gift. The baby we were eagerly anticipating a couple of weeks ago has arrived and is a boy!
The star is stamped, clear embossed on watercolor paper, colored with Zig markers and then die cut. A panel is also lightly watercolored before the MFT Beautiful Baby sentiment is added along with a scatter of star confetti under the popped up die cuts.
The Clean Team has fabulous cards this week! Make sure you check them out at Freshly Made Sketches and join in on the challenge.
Thanks for stopping by,
Jacquie
Oh goodness, Jacquie ... your tissue wrapped cookies in their box are an absolute delight ... the 'sprinkles' and shine are just scrumptious ... and tempting! What an adorable new baby card ... love the confetti swoosh background behind the die cut stars ... the whole design is so soft and sweet, just like a new baby! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a box card lined with tissue and laden with delicious looking sugar cookies, Jacquie, and I think it is sensational! I love the colors and the nonpareils you have sprinkled on top! And I love how you used the same sugar cookie star (watercolored beautifully) to make a sweet new baby boy card!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #21! Hugs, Darnell

ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness! These are just beautiful! I love the fun details you've added on the cookies -- from the shiny icing to the nonpareils.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new baby boy, Jacquie! How lovely! And you've created the perfect card for his arrival! Love the idea of using those star cookies for a baby card! Wonderfully clever, and beautifully watercolored. Sweet confetti behind them and a lovely sentiment. But that box... A BOX of cookies?!! Brilliant idea! Love it! They look delicious! What a great way to showcase that set. I'm fully blown away by that idea and your design! Two fabulous cards! Thanks so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge!! xo Bev
ReplyDeleteWonderful news and such a sweet card for the baby, the soft blues and sprinkling of stars underneath the larger ones is gorgeous. Your box of cookies complete with tissue is fabulous. Wonderful set of twofers, thanks for playing along.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Your cookie star makes the cutest baby card and I never would have guessed it was a cookie die! Congratulations on the arrival of a brand new baby boy! I just love how you've done the Christmas card, too, with the tissue making them look all the more real and yummy. Those sprinkles add to the delicious factor, as well. I'm so glad you joined us at Twofer. It was a treat to see your two cards!
ReplyDeleteMmmm, cookies! Really, this is just so clever! And your baby card with the little star details...wow!
