Happy Anniversary Papertrey Ink

I promised I would be back tonight to link this card to the "make a birthday card for Papertrey Ink and post a photo of you with it" challenge. Since I once again went to the color & sketch challenge from earlier in the week, I am also linking the card up to that post.

Color-7

Sketch-6

This is my favorite of all the cards I've made for the Papertrey Ink Anniversary challenge - it is so striking in real life.

The Quilled Elegance stamp set jumped immediately to my mind when I saw the sketch and I knew it would be fun to color with Copics. Somehow my pink is reading red in these photos, but trust me it is very pink in real life.

I cut the panel and recessed the birthday sentiment. All the stamped and colored areas are brushed with clear Wink of Stella which gives an amazing finish to the card.

My kids are laughing at my selfies and telling me I need more practice - I won't tell you how many tries it took to get a sort-of-in-focus photo of me & the card and I wish one of them had been around this afternoon to help me out. I can't be bothered to take another photo with the Olympics calling my name. We have become fans of Slopestyle Snowboarding this weekend, always love the Figure Skating and are looking forward to Curling - what about you?

Thanks for stopping by,

Jacquie

  3. Hi Jacquie. Love this card--I was planning on using that same set for one of my cards. You have doubly inspired me to make that card happen. And, such fun to see your photo. Good job with the selfie. I tried that, and kept missing my face!

  5. I would say you did a good job on your selfie. It turned out much better than any I have ever taken. The card is wonderful, too. I love that you recessed the sentiment panel and the Wink of Stella just sends it over the top.
