Twofer: Harvest + Muse #286 + CTD514 + Seize the Birthday AND MCV#110

I have three cards to share today. The first two were inspired by the Twofer Card Challenge #10: Harvest Challenge.

It is easy to see the Harvest connection with my sympathy card using the fall colors on the leaves. The lily on the birthday card is a bit more of a reach as I thought of planting fall bulbs to harvest spring and summer flowers.

Mama Elephant Freestyle Floral images and PTI Penned Elegance stamps are used on both cards.

Tracey's Muse #286 card inspired the rectangular wreath of leaves and buds. Copic markers in the Color Throwdown #514 colors filled in the sketchy shapes.

The sentiment is positioned first on the birthday card and then the floral images stamped and masked before being colored with Copic markers. The finished panel is popped up on a purple card base.

This card is being linked to Seize the Birthday where Anything Goes for the current challenge.

My third card is inspired by Cornelia's starry night for Muse ChristmasVisions #110, using the inked sky, trees and sentiment.

The Poppystamps Open Hillside and Snowscape dies are layered for this card. The sky piece of the Snowscape is inked with Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress inks before being adhered to the card base and the snowflakes inset back in place.

The PTI sentiment is stamped on the Open Hillside die cut before it is layered on the card base.

Muse: Christmas Visions 69

Kimberly Wiener provided us a great inspiration card for Muse: Christmas Visions 69.

I really just wanted to copy every detail of Kimberly's card but looking through my supplies decided to switch things up a bit, going for a black "joy" die cut and red poinsettia.

The text paper and swirled thread are reinterpreted with the music embossed background for a little added interest and texture.

Muse #189 + FMS260 + Seize the Birthday & MCV#68 + JUGS#367 + SSS Anything Goes

Happy Saturday! I was lucky enough to have some quiet time in the office this morning and ended up with a couple of cards for a variety of challenges.

This first card is inspired by Guest Designer Lucille's donut card for Muse #189 and the sketch for Freshly Made Sketches #260.

The sweet donut die cut from Reverse Confetti is paired with an Avery Elle sentiment. A few extra sprinkles are scattered on the banner before it is popped up on a large dot embossed panel.

This card is also being linked to Seize the Birthday in the Anything Goes category.

This second card was inspired by another Guest Muse, Jeanne Jachna, for Muse Christmas Visions #68, along with the Just Us Girls #376 Wild Card Week with the challenge to make the sentiment the focal point of the card.

Inspired by Jeanne's brightly colored color block panels and white inlaid dies, the front of the card base was inked with Picked Rasberry and Festive Berries Distress inks. A panel is die cut with the Memory Box Merry Christmas Channel dies, the sentiment masked and then the rest of the die cut also inked.

A trio of Paper Smooches snowflakes die cuts are made on this panel. Once adhered to the card base white snowflakes are adhered and a couple of sequins added to finish off the card.

This card is also being linked to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Blog Challenge where Anything Goes this week.

Muse #182 + Seize the Birthday and Muse Christmas Visions #61

I had some unexpected free time today and spent a good part of it playing with inks and dies and watercolors and stamps, etc. This first card is the result of painting Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks on a watercolor paper panel inspired by Anita's card for Muse #182.

The panel is cut with a Memory Box Ringlets die and the interlocking circles reminded me of blowing bubbles with the kids when they were younger. This card is kept clean and simple with a PTI sentiment.

This next card is inspired by Kimberly's beautiful color palette and wreath for Muse Christmas Visions #61

This really is one of those funny cards that started in a very different place and somehow I ended up with a gray & white wreath by layering 3 cuts of a MFT wreath die.

Frosted dot berries brought in the aqua blue and a Tim Holtz red bow finished off the wreath. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Deck the Halls stamp set.

I was cleaning up my desk and decided to make a second Muse card using the leftover watercolored pieces from the Ringlet die cut. To corral them, a second die cut was made from white cardstock and adhered to a white panel.

After the watercolor pieces are set in place and the panel adhered to an aqua card base, the sentiment panel is wrapped around the bottom left corner.

This card is also being linked to Seize the Birthday! in the Anything Goes category.

Muse Christmas Visions #60 + NBUS #7 + Simon Says Anything Goes

When I saw Guest Designer Kim Makortoff's card for Muse Christmas Visions Challenge #60, I immediately thought of a sweet Lawn Fawn stamp set I picked up when a local scrapbook store closed in the spring. I know this set hasn't been inked up yet which means I also get to enter another card in Darnell's fun challenge to use some of the "never befor used schtuff" hanging around our creative space or, as most of us know it, NBUS#7.

Muse Christmas Visions #60

As you can see, my primary inspiration was the pine cones and multi-colored pine boughs.

The pinecone was stamped first and then masked before the pine boughs added. The ledge was added next and then the sentiment in red.

After the stamped panel was matted with a chocolate panel and added to the chartreuse card base, a little Wink of Stella was swiped over the pinecone.

Muse Christmas Visions #59 + NBUS #7

I've been letting my son drive to school lately. The good part is that I don't have to battle the school traffic costing me at least 30 minutes to drive the 6 mile round trip at 7 in the morning. The bad part is I don't get the car back until almost 5 because he has cross country practice after school. Today it also meant I had some time to craft.

I had major poinsettia envy when I saw Meredith MacRitchie's gorgeous card for the Muse Christmas Visions Challenge #59. That is not patterned paper on her card! I really need to get a poinsettia stamp into my collection this year, but for now have to make do with a sweet Poppystamps Poinsettia die.

I took several ideas from Meredith's card: the inked tag, mix of a diecut &stamped sentiment, poinsettia die cuts and jute bow.

The close up shows the lovely detailed lines on the poinsettias.

This card is also being entered in the lovely Darnell's NBUS #7 Challenge. I picked up a number of MFT dies earlier this summer, included this great stitched tag. I punched the hole and added a hole protector from a second NBUS tag set. I encourage you to use something from your new craft supplies and play along on this fun challenge (or at least check out what everyone else has been buying).

My car is home so I'm off to run a few errands!

Muse Christmas Visions #44

I wanted to pull out my PTI O'Tannenbaum stamp set as soon as I saw Chriss Blagrave's card for the Muse: ChristmasVisions Challenge 44. I loved her white embossed trees and pastel inked background and used these elements on my card.

The multi-step tree is stamped with Versamark ink on watercolor paper and heat embossed in white. Zig Real Brush markers add a touch of color behind the tree, mimicking the glow of colored Christmas lights.

A simple sentiment from Rustic Wreath is heat embossed on the Spring Moss card base.

Muse Christmas Visions #41

My creative mojo and creative time haven't been playing together very well over the last couple of weeks, but I think Cornelia's card for the Muse: Christmas Visions #41 might have finally pushed them into sync again.

Cornelia's card is everything I love colorful, clean and clever!

Northern lights was the first thing I thought of when I saw this card. One of my sister's lived in the Yukon for many years and I dreamed of seeing the northern lights on my visits, but we hardly got a sunset before the sun was rising again for the next day. Even my long ago trip to the high Arctic for a job interview was in the summer. See if you can find Little Cornwallis Island on a map and try to imagine working there over a long, dark winter. I don't think my husband will ever really forgive me for turning down that opportunity.

The PTI Waves cover plate is cut in white and black and pieced back together to make the snowy hill and dark night sky, with some of the white panel inked in rainbow colors.

The Memory Box fawn die is adhered so that the feet are flush with the paper and the head popped up. I love the way it's head is slightly tilted, looking up at the bright & colorful night sky.

A sentiment from PTI Rustic Wreath stamp set finishes this card.
