Tuesday Trigger - Ready for Red

Cath at Moxie Fab World has put up another great photo for the Tuesday Trigger - you can go here for details.

A few weeks ago, while looking for something else, I came across a pack of Velvet Paper from  sei that I picked up at a Scrapbook Expo a few years ago. I immediately thought of this paper when I saw the chair in the photo - unfortunately, the closest color in the pack is called wine, so I am renaming the challenge "Ready for Wine" (and, not yet - but I will definitely have a glass later).

I pulled out my embossing folders to see if I could find something that would mimic the tufting on the chair and another to create the swirly flowers in the wallpaper. After embossing the grey cardstock, I inked a PTI Background Basics stamp with Brilliance Moonlight White and lightly stamped the raised image. I am very impressed with this white ink!

A piece of raw silk ribbon is knotted off center and helps hide the edge where the papers meet.

Here is a close-up of the velvet paper - it really does add a fabulous, rich texture to the card.

The sentiment is from PTI's Mega Mixed Messages stamp set and inked with Memento Tuxedo Black onto an oval die cut and then layered onto a piece of the velvet paper die cut with a scalloped oval die.

The pearl pin is from Michael's floral supplies, with a red and clear bead added to it, the red crystal pin is Maya Road and was colored with a Copic marker and a Tim Holtz memo pin holds the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jacquie
