Freshly Made Sketches #664

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #664!

I love the trio of panels in fabulous Clean Team designer Linda Callahan's sketch this week! My original plans involved candy canes but I am kind of smitten with this Simple Stories Snow Pine Lodge paper I picked up last weekend and had to play with it instead.

The Lawn Fawn Merry Messages sentiment is heated embossed on the panel first before adding the staggered stitched rectangle die cuts of patterned paper.  A trio of snowflake sequins adds a bit of glitter and shine.

Freshly Made Sketches #663

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #663!

Awesome Clean Team designer, Jen Mitchell, is behind our fabulous sketch this week! I'm pretty sure it is because I've been on the hunt for a new belt that I immediately saw the sketch as a belt buckle and couldn't unsee it, so took a bit of creative liberty with the sketch for my design. I was kind of excited to play with older supplies after deciding to create a knit Santa suit.

A 4x11" piece of red cardstock is scored at 4 and 8 inches from the left to create the card base, with the left and right panels overlapping for a gatefold. The two side pieces were then embossed with a Lifestyle Crafts knit texture for a bit of interest.  Again digging into older supplies, a large scalloped border die trims the front side panel so that you can see the right side of his suit when the card is closed. The right panel hidden underneath the closed left panel is also given the same scalloped finish.

A square frame die is used to cut the glitter paper buckle and a stitched die is used for the belt. I debated leaving off a sentiment but in the end decided to add the sweet heat embossed Kerri Bradford Bundled Up sentiment.

Freshly Made Sketches #662

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #662!

Our talented challenge leader, Jen Timko, has given us a fun landscape sketch to work with this week. I've been sorting and purging in the office and came across a set of die cuts made when crafting with a friend a couple years ago. Yes, you read that right, and they immediately went on my desk in the "use these" pile. I knew as soon as I saw the landscape orientation one of these Middle Eastern cityscape die cuts would be perfect.

A panel is inked with shades of blue and the Mama Elephant Merry Christmas Wishes sentiment and Poppystamps Believe stars are heat embossed in gold before adding the cityscape die cut. I really wish I knew the brand to share for the die cuts. If you recognize, please let me know!

Freshly Made Sketches #661

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #661!

I'm excited to be hosting the challenge this week! My sketch was created around a Tim Holtz Bowtie die I have had sitting unused for at least a year. Remember, you can use the sketch as a background element or the main image of your design. I saw a wrapped gift first, but also think it would be fun to play with plaids or use the three smaller pieces to frame something in the largest panel. I can't wait to see the gallery fill with your creative ideas!

A piece of designer paper is used to provide a gift wrapped base for the aqua bow. As I was putting the bow together, a snowflake die cut kept calling to be used and adds a bit of interest to the design. The last step was to make a tag with the liquid platinum embossed MFT sentiment and Avery Elle die. It was tied off with dark gray twine and slipped under the bow layers.
