CAS(E) This Sketch! #128 + Simon Says

With Father's Day tomorrow I took a little time today to make this card. If you know my husband, you know he is rarely seen without a coffee cup in his hand.

Some older 6x6 patterned paper pads were pulled out and 3 patterns picked to make fun coffee cups. The sleeves and lids are cut from Soft Stone cardstock and then a letter added to each to spell out DAD.

Using this week's sketch from Hannelie Bester for CAS(E) This Sketch! #128 the cups were adhered to the card base with the middle one popped up and slightly overlapping the other two. A Simon Says Stamp sentiment is heat embossed directly onto the card base.

You should know by now that die cutting is a favorite technique of mine this card is perfect for the challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog this week.

My husband's favorite coffee cup is this ceramic version of the iconic New York City "to go" coffee cup I picked up for a a few years ago while in NYC. With his Greek and restaurant family background it was a perfect gift for him and we all get a kick out of spotting the cups in the hands of actors in any NYC based TV shows or movies.

I only complain when he uses it as a travel mug because it didn't come with a lid.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jacquie
