CASology Week 306: BEAR

Welcome to Week 306 at CASology!

Did you think of pandas, teddy bears or polar bears when you saw this week's cue word? Or maybe your first thought was more along the idea of bearing a gift? There are so many directions to go with this cue word.

I'll take any opportunity to make a card with these plump polar bears from MFT. Three of the images are masked and stamped on the watercolor paper before the scarves are colored with Zig Clean Color markers.

Once the panel was dry, the sentiment was added and the panel adhered to a teal card base.

Check out the terrific design team cards!

Papertrey Ink June 2018 Blog Hop

Have you seen the delicious rainbow of color in the Papertrey Ink June 2018 Blog Hop inspiration photo?

I colored a watercolor paper panel with Zig Clean Color markers in rainbow order, allowing the colors to blend together.

The panel was trimmed down a bit to be just a little wider than the Stacked Sentiments die I cut while crafting with Joyce. A trio of raindrops add a bit of icy bling to echo the frozen treats and finish off this card.

I'm excited to see the cards linked up to the Blog Hop this month!

Color Throwdown #498 Guest Star Stamper

I'm thrilled to be joining the design team for Color Throwdown #498 as the Guest Star Stamper this week!

I was excited to see the colors peach, pale pink, hot pink and green for the challenge and thought they would be perfect for coloring my Memory Box Llama Love stamps.

The llama, hat and blanket were all stamped, die cut and colored before being adhered together and popped up on the wonky stitched oval. This oval panel is adhered to s slightly larger oval die cut that gives a sliver of a hot pink border.

I hope these colors inspire you to play along with Color Throwdown #498 this week!

CASology Week 305: JUMPY

Welcome to Week 305 at CASology!

I'm not sure if I've ever shared this, but our first family pet was a beloved aquatic frog that lived in a fishbowl. We inherited Hoppy from a neighbor who received him/her(?) as a party favor. Yes, some parent sent all the kids home from the birthday party with frogs! I couldn't resist these fun Poppystamps dies that reminded me of the days Hoppy was a big part of our family and they were the first thing I thought of with the cue word JUMPY.

For a little texture and interest, the Impression Obsession background stamp is inked with Versamark and heat embossed with a clear embossing powder. The sentiment strip wraps around the panel and the frogs added to look like they are jumping for joy.

The design team has terrific cards this week!

MBC #38 + CTS #276 + Seize the Birthday

This card was inspired by the Memory Box Challenge #38, CAS(E) this Sketch! #276 and Seize the Birthday: Beachy Birthday.

I stamped and heat embossed the fish on a watercolor paper panel before coloring them with my Zig Real Brush markers. The sentiment is added after the panel dried.

For added interest, the blue ocean is painted on the card base before the panel is popped up with foam adhesive.

CASology Week 304: PEARL

Welcome to Week 304 at CASology!

I've had a mother-of-pearl heart shaped button sitting on my desk forever and decided to use it for our  PEARL challenge this week.

The PTI Penned Elegance sentiment was stamped on the panel first, allowing me to cover some of the stencil with washi tape so only a select few hearts were embossed with a pearl finish paste.

The design team has terrific cards this week!

MIM #324 + CTD #496

I loved Michelle Leone's challenge to add Lots o' Dots for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday but was limited by my collection of Nuvo Drops. Can I call it a collection if I only have two bottles?

Then I saw the colors for Color Throwdown #496 and started playing with white on white dimension with the dots.

Three images and a sentiment from the PTI What the Doodle: Feather Mini stamp set are added to the panel first. Parts of the largest feather are colored with a Copic marker or highlighted with the Simply White Nuvo Crystal  Drops.

CASology Week 303: FARM

Welcome to Week 303 at CASology!

Is the farm about animals or crops for you? I pulled out my PTI On The Farm dies and Barnyard Sentiment mini-stamps knowing I wanted to stack the cow, pig and chicken images to go with this fun sentiment.

The "on the grill for you" part of the sentiment was computer generated before the others elements were stamped and adhered. The kids are already fighting over who gets to use this card for Father's Day.

Check out the terrific design team cards and give a warm welcome to our newest team member,  Sue Symens!
