CASology Week 341: TURQUOISE

Welcome to Week 341 at CASology!

Did you think color or gemstone when you saw the cue word this week? Both inspired my card, especially the turquoise and silver jewelry of the southwest.

The Papertrey Ink Quilled Elegance image and sentiment are embossed on a watercolor paper panel and colored with a Turquoise Green Zig Real Brush marker.

The design team has terrific cards this week!

CASology Week 340: AFRICA and Twofer Challenge #15

Welcome to Week 340 at CASology!

I was so excited to see our cue word this week and immediately knew the beaded giraffe my daughter brought me from South Africa was going to be a further source of inspiration. I pulled out my Poppystamps Giraffe Trio dies and brightly colored beads and let them sit on my desk while working out a few design ideas.

It was the MFT Stitched Arch die that really brought the design together. An arch window is cut from a panel, the Concord & 9th sentiment added and the panel popped up on a card base with foam adhesive.

The giraffe dies are cut several times from white card stock and five tucked into the window. A thin line of Glossy Accents is run along the inside edge of the arch and the string of beads tucked into place.

Once the Glossy Accents is dry, the beads are firmly adhered and the ends of the microfilament beading thread can be snipped and tucked under the bottom edge of the window.

Since the Twofer Card Challenge #15 is Zoo Animals, I decided to make another card using one of the giraffe dies.

A giraffe is cut from bright pink felt and then from the PTI From the Heart die. An MFT Beautiful Baby sentiment is added to the heart before the felt giraffe is inset and popped up on the heart embossed panel.

The design is finished with a twine bow and scatter of pale pink and clear sequins.

The two cards together!

The CASology design team has fabulous cards this week!

Freshly Made Sketches #384

Linda Callahan is the Clean Team member behind a fun sketch for this week! I wanted to use this whimsical birthday cake stamp set from PTI and played around with a few ideas for vertical strips on Linda's sketch.

Once the thought of streamers took hold, the only way to make it work was rotating the sketch so the vertical strips became a horizontal element. I place one streamer in front of the cake panel and one behind. There is a touch ofWink of Stella on the candle flames.

I'm also linking this card to Seize the Birthday where Anything Goes this week.

The Clean Team has amazing cards to inspire you! I hope you are able to join in the fun this week.

CASology Week 339: LEAP

Welcome to Week 339 at CASology!

What a fun word we have to inspire you this week! This time of year there are many taking leaps of faith into new ventures (wedding, graduation, etc.) and then there are the literal leaping bunnies associated with Easter.

I had to pull out my adorable Poppystamps Tiny Frogs die for this fun birthday card. Pool party anyone? Casual Fridays Woot Woot stamp set provided the perfect sentiment and is wrapped along the edge of the oval pond.

The design team has terrific cards this week!

Freshly Made Sketches #383

I had a lot of fun with Jen Mitchell's sketch this week, transforming the square element into a martini glass.  After adding the MFT Martini stamps and die to the white stitched rectangle, I looked for a piece of patterned paper to finish the design.

This MFT black & white chevron paper fit perfectly.

The Clean Team has terrific cards to inspire you - I hope you get a chance to play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

CASology Week 338: PLASTIC

Welcome to Week 338 at CASology!

I have to admit the cue word this week took a bit of thinking. Then I had a lightbulb moment when I realized all my sequins are little pieces of plastic and this card was born.

I pulled a rainbow selection of sequins and strung them on monofilament beading thread. A rainbow of MFT Mini-scallop Stitched Rectangle frames are die cut and adhered together, with the thread adhered between the aqua and green layers. The framed piece is then adhered to a white panel and onto the black card base.

The design team has great cards this week!

Freshly Made Sketches #382

Jennifer Timko has designed the fabulous sketch for Freshly Made Sketches 382! I knew I wanted to white emboss a sentiment of black cardstock, but wasn't sure what was going to go in the big panel until I flipped through my stamps and found this beautiful Concord & 9th Lace Leaf stamp.

The bright pink lacey leaf is stamped first, then the inky background in a lighter shade. A scatter of raindrops and sequins finish off this card.

CASology Week 337: BURST

Welcome to Week 337 at CASology!

I took the cue word to mean bursting with excitement which is why I pulled out the MFT Yay to You stamp set.

A white panel is heat embossed with Versamark and clear embossing powder with a Impression Obsession Happy background stamp and then the other sentiments layered on top.

The design team has some fun and clever cards this week!
