Freshly Made Sketches #394

Clean Team designer Jen Timko created this fabulous and versatile sketch! I took the idea of a band across the bottom of the card quite literally in my design.

The PTI Big Basics Congratulations die is cut from a white glitter paper once and twice from white cardstock. The layers are adhered together before being added to the Berry Sorbet and vellum layered band. This band is popped up along the center to allow room for the white and vellum leaves to be tucked into place. A scatter of sequins add a bit more fun to the festive feel.

Fusion - VW Hippie + Simon Says

If you haven't already checked out the Fusion - VW Hippie challenge, I urge you to get over there. The design team cards and gallery are fabulous! With a VW Bus loving husband, I couldn't resist making a card for him.

I stamped, fussy cut and paper pieced a trio of Avery Elle buses and framed them with a MFT rectangular frame die.

A simple sentiment from PTI Destination stamp set fit perfectly on the frame.

I'm also linking this card to Simon Say Stamp Wednesday Challenge where Travel/Vacation is the theme this week.

Freshly Made Sketches #393

This fabulous sketch was designed by Clean Team member, Lee Ann Barrett! My starting point for this card was a piece of brightly striped pattern paper.

I die cut the YAY from the striped paper and saved the letters for a future card. The negative is layered on a bright pink cardstock panel and pinked edge orange panel. Before everything is adhered to the a light aqua panel, the second part of the sentiment is heat embossed.

The Clean Team has a terrific variety of cards to inspire you this week - I hope you join in the fun this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

CASology Week 346: RING

Welcome to Week 346 at CASology!

There are so many ways to interpret the cue word this challenge that I predict a wide variety of cards in the gallery! I finally settled on making a Christmas card because I wanted to use this PTI sentiment.

I partially cut the Seattle skyline die so I had room to stamp the sentiment and add the Baker's twine and bells. This is popped up on a snowing sky with Santa and his reindeer flying off.

The design team has outdone themselves with their creativity for this challenge!

Freshly Made Sketches #392

I'm the challenge host this week and had fun designing this sketch. The three horizontal panels can be sentiment strips or any design element that strikes your fancy!

I used them as sentiment strips, heat embossing a trio from MFT Greetings & Salutations stamp set and attaching them to my rectangular aquarium shaker. The Copic colored fish is from Avery Elle That Bites.

Salty Ocean Distress Ink is blended and layered on the background panel before the fish is adhered with foam dots, allowing the sequins and microbeads to flow around both the front and back.

Check out the Clean Team's fabulous cards for more ideas. I hope my sketch inspires you play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

Freshly Made Sketches #391

We have a fabulous sketch from Clean Team designer Amy O'Neill to inspire us this week! My husband rebuilding our deck this weekend inspired me to think about Father's Day cards and play around with my tool dies.

A sentiment from the MFT All About Dad stamp set is stamped on a stitched rectangle before it is woodgrain embossed and the die cut MFT Tool Charms hung. Any construction project here starts with drawings on graph paper so I was happy to find this piece in my patterned paper stash to add a little more interest to the design.

CASology Week 345: CALM

Welcome to Week 345 at CASology!

Meditation is my calming technique and I knew I had stamped off a great Penny Black image while crafting with my team mate, Joyce, a while ago. Thankfully, it was exactly where I thought it was and ready to use.

This card came together quickly, using a few Copic markers to color the image and an MFT Stitched Scalloped Oval die to cut it out. For a little extra interest, the stamped panel is added to an Aqua Mist card base.

The design team has terrific cards!
