Danielle Flanders makes her debut at the MIM challenge at Capture the Moment with this great video tutorial using cover plate stencils to add dimensional media, creating unique backgrounds for a card.
The stencil was cut with the Quatrefoil Cover Plate and Hawaiian Shores tinted gel medium is layered on the cardstock panel.
This is the gel medium I used, and it has a gorgeous, translucent quality that is hard to capture in the photo. It reminds me of glass tiles.
Thanks for stopping by,
Jacquie
I love the different effect you got. I love the one in the video, as it is more "me" but it is super fun to see yours - that just using different paste can give you such a different look! I need to experiment! Great job! Off to see what dies I have that would work for this technique. I think I may let mine dry with the mask in place, then spray the paste with some sprays....ooohhh ahhh. hee hee
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Jacquie! Love the medium you used! Gorgeous colo!
ReplyDeleteOops! Gorgeous colors!
DeleteYou DID too create a flocked look! A gorgeous quatrafoil in aqua that's dimensional. Looks like a mosaic!
ReplyDeleteWow! I love the glossy effect! Really loving everyone's samples and creativity!

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you included the close-up, it really shows off how pretty your technique is!
ReplyDeleteGreat card using this technique. You are much braver than me. I did not even watch this video. It looked too complicated, but I really love the effect.
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning, Jacquie! I love the glossy-tile-look you created and the aqua color is gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteOooo! That gel medium looks so cool! I may have to get some and give that a try! Great card and wonderful job with the technique!
