Inlaid Die Cuts for OCC: Clean & Simple 3 + Seize the Birthday

I took some time this morning to watch the tutorials for Day 1 at the new Clean & Simple 3 class from Online Card Classes, but it was late afternoon before I had a chance to play.

With time limited, I went right to the inlaid die cut technique for making a one layer card.

A couple of speech bubbles are paired with a "happy" die on this card and the sentiment is finished off with a masked stamp.

I love the flat finish from this technique! With a constant need for more masculine designs, I deliberately kept this card super simple - no dots, pearls, Wink of Stella, etc.

This card is also being linked to the Seize the Birthday Anything Goes challenge.

I'll be back tomorrow with more technique based cards.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jacquie

  5. This looks really cool. I always thought, I don't need a speechbubble die, I can cut them with an oval template... Seems I need them after all... ;)

Stop by tomorrow and see what I mean. I love your version even more. Your colors are so gorgeous together. Perfect for spring.
