Twofer #1 + CTS #254 + CTD #476 + Simon Says Add a Sentiment

I was thrilled to see Feathers as the inaugural challenge at the new challenge, Twofer Card Challenge.   The challenge is to use the same stamp or die on two cards for different occasions and with different designs.

The biggest part of the challenge may have been deciding which feather images to use, but I finally picked my Spellbinders dies because I love the shapes & detailed impressions in these feathers.

This first card is a sympathy card made using the design from CAS(E) This Sketch #254 and colors from Color Throwdown #476.

The largest feather die is cut from watercolor paper lightly colored with Zig markers. A couple of white feathers are also die cut, along with an MFT mini-scalloped circle frame and several banners. The sentiment is from PTI With Sympathy.

The second card uses the same three dies as the first card, along with two more, to cut feathers from a brightly colored watercolor paper panel.

A sentiment from PTI Stylish Sentiments: Birthdays is stamped on the panel before the feathers are adhered. Just a touch of glue is used at the center of each feather so that have a bit of lift and add dimension to the card.

I am also linking this card to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog where Simon Says Add a Sentiment this week.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jacquie

  1. Two gorgeous cards, Jacquie! The colour palette on the first is soft, calm and serene, lovely with the feathers ... and that vibrant parade on your second card is brilliant, the dimension is delicious! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)

  2. Wow, Jacquie! I love how you can turn a feather from somber to celebration! These are both beautiful! Your colors and design of the sympathy card convey that gentleness needed for the occasion, but your bright festive flurry of feathers are ready for a party! Thanks for joining in on the fun at Twofer Card Challenge!

  6. I'm glad you were pleased with the prompt, Jacquie! I'm certainly pleased with how well you embraced the concept of my new challenge! The beautiful soft blue and white are so pretty against the brown of the kraft for your sympathy card. The black "shadow" to highlight the banner sediment is an awesome touch! And your gorgeous feathers on your birthday design are very "uplifting!" (Sorry, couldn't resist!) You have a real eye for design details! Thank you for the shoutout and for playing with us at Twofer!! Hugs, Darnell

  7. Not only do you have a different design and occasion but an entirely different feel to your cards, Jacquie. Soft and neutral for the sympathy card and bright and colorful for the birthday.
