This first card is inspired by Marion Vagg's stunner for Muse #90 and the CASology Week #118: Home.
I love the clean, graphic design of Marion's card, but went in a slightly different direction with mine. A Tim Holtz stencil is used to ink a white panel, with more ink added after the stencil was removed.
The house & heart paperclip was stained red with alcohol ink, but needed a little extra help to stand out on the panel, so it was backed with an inked scrap of cardstock.
I loved the DT cards for CAS(E) This Sketch #97 and fussed with an idea that was perfect in my head, but wasn't translating well in real life.
I walked away from my desk for a few hours before completely scrapping the first plan and going with a simple one layer card.
The feathers are stamped with Versamark and embossed with a clear embossing powder so that the white cardstock shows through when inked.
I hope you had a nice, relaxing weekend. Tomorrow I have to get out the Halloween decorations if they are going to get up before Friday. I'm kind of missing the old days when the kids would start begging in September to decorate and I would hold them off until October 1. The last few years it seems we get the lights up just in time for the trick-o-treaters.
Thanks for stopping by,
Jacquie
