I was so excited to see our cue word this week and immediately knew the beaded giraffe my daughter brought me from South Africa was going to be a further source of inspiration. I pulled out my Poppystamps Giraffe Trio dies and brightly colored beads and let them sit on my desk while working out a few design ideas.
It was the MFT Stitched Arch die that really brought the design together. An arch window is cut from a panel, the Concord & 9th sentiment added and the panel popped up on a card base with foam adhesive.
The giraffe dies are cut several times from white card stock and five tucked into the window. A thin line of Glossy Accents is run along the inside edge of the arch and the string of beads tucked into place.
Once the Glossy Accents is dry, the beads are firmly adhered and the ends of the microfilament beading thread can be snipped and tucked under the bottom edge of the window.
Since the
Twofer Card Challenge #15 is Zoo Animals, I decided to make another card using one of the giraffe dies.
A giraffe is cut from bright pink felt and then from the PTI From the Heart die. An MFT Beautiful Baby sentiment is added to the heart before the felt giraffe is inset and popped up on the heart embossed panel.
The design is finished with a twine bow and scatter of pale pink and clear sequins.
The two cards together!
