Muse #143 + Simon Says & Colour Me #99

I am having a great crafting weekend with a couple more cards to share this morning.

I've been wanting to use this big & bold Mama Elephant sentiment and when I saw the colors for Colour Me Creative Challenge #99 I decided to make a Christmas card in nontraditional colors. Zig Clean Color watercolor pens were used to color the panel after the image was heat embossed. A splatter of white Color Shine was added after the panel dried and then it was mounted behind an MFT Rectangle Frame.

This card is also being entered in the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge at the Wednesday Challenge Blog.

This next card was inspired by Tracey McNeely's Muse #143 inspiration card.

This is definitely one of those cards that started in one place and ended up somewhere completely different, but I am really happy with the final result.

As you can see, several elements are used from the inspiration card with a slight twist. I used the same white/gold/red dominate colors with the gold embossing became gold glitter paper and the stamped ornament a die cut shaker forming the "o" in the die cut sentiment.  ETA the ornament is made from the Memory Box Cabrini Ornament die cut three times. I just used scraps to cut the holly leaves & berries.

The shaker ornament is filled with microbeads and course glitter. It is amazing how photographs from different angles highlight different elements in the shaker.

The ornament string is wrapped over the top and adhered to the back of the card.

I hope to have some more crafting time today.

Freshly Made Sketches #214 + Simon Says Anything Goes

I'm slowly adding to the stack of Christmas cards.

The design came from Freshly Made Sketches #214 which I followed closely. A glitter snowflake, red banner with white embossed Avery Elle sentiment and scatter of sequins are all that were needed for this CAS card. The sentiment banner wraps around to the inside of the card where it is attached with an arcylic snowflake.

I am also linking this card to the Wednesday Challenge Blog Anything Goes challnge at Simon Says Stamp.

CTS #150 + Merry Monday #181 + Simon Says Anything Goes & MCV #30 + 25DOCT Day 24

While my husband and a visiting friend braved the Black Friday shopping, I stayed in and made a few cards and tags. I have a couple to share today.

This card  is based on the CAS(E) This Sketch! challenge #150 and Merry Monday challenge #181 to use Blue, White and texture on a card.  The texture comes from the embossed part of the sentiment, the double layered die cut sentiment, layered snowflakes and glitter paper.  I'm also linking this card to the Wednesday Challenge Blog at Simon Says Stamp where Anything Goes this week.

This tag is based on the inspiration at the Muse Christmas Visions #30 and Day 24 of Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags (oops. I missed the cut off for Tracey's challenge, but you can still use the link to check out all the great tags entered over the last 25 days). I was specifically inspired by Aryth's modern tree tag.

Papertrey Ink November 2015 Blog Hop

I am participating in the Papertrey Ink November 2015 Blog Hop today. Nichole Heady gave us this gorgeous photo to inspire us with a nontraditional Christmas color scheme.

Blog Hop Inspiration

I recreated the framed mirror with a couple of Nestabilities and Kraft Core Metallic Silver paper, making it into a shaker box. A couple of sentiments from the Christmas Cheer Stamp Set are stamped in Simply Chartreuse ink at the top and bottom of the frame and the matching glitter paper die cut is adhered across the sides.

The shaker is filled with an assortment of aqua, silver and white micro beads and chartreuse, aqua, teal and clear sequins before being sealed. A few sequins and rainstones are scattered across the front of the card, echoing the diagonal line of the die cut sentiment.

This was a tough card to photograph as the die cut either created a shadow or was mirrored on the silver paper.

I'm off to see how everyone else was inspired by these fabulous colors.

My dear husband is going rogue again this year and putting lamb on the rotisserie for Thanksgiving dinner. I have to have my turkey, fresh cranberry sauce and mountain of stuffing so our table will be very full. I hope everyone else celebrating Thanksgiving this week has a great, relaxing holiday!

OCC: Holiday Style Day 11

I ran out of time trying to use one stamp set 5 different ways this more for the Online Card Classes Holiday Style class, but did get three cards made using the different techniques and styles highlighted over the last couple of weeks,

I love this bauble wreath made with watercolor paper and distress markers.

This second card used the same sentiment and images with a more whimsical color palette.

My last card uses a different sentiment, gold embossing and gold metallic paper that has been scored to echo the diagonal line of the inked part of the panel.

These sentiments and images are all from Mama Elephant's Jingle Greetings stamp set.

OCC: Holiday Style Day 9

More Online Card Classes: Holiday Style homework for Day 9. Love the super soft watercolor, but my camera didn't pick it up too well.

I offset a couple of vellum die cuts to give my forest a little more depth and stamped the Mama Elephant Jingle Greetings sentiment with VersaMagic Sea Breeze ink.

So many great techniques in today's class that I hope to play with later tonight.

OOC Holiday Style Day 7 + Merry Monday #180

I have a quick card to share tonight based on some ideas from the Online Card Classes: Holiday Style Day 7 tutorials.

I die cut the Savvy Stamps Deer Head die from silver Kraft-Core Metallic paper, black cardstock and black fun foam and adhered the layers together. The dot from an "i" alphabet die provided the perfect glitter paper nose. The SSS Christmas sentiment was stamped and heat embossed in silver.

Super quick and clean and simple! I am linking this card up to the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #180: Use a Reindeer.

OCC Holiday Style Day 5 & 25 Days of Christmas Tags & HLS November Christmas Challenge

It is amazing how much more crafting time I have when soccer season ends. Today I played around with a few more ideas from the Online Card Classes: Holiday Style and ended up with 2 cards and a tag to share.

This first card is a one layer, stamped and masked card using the snowmen from Paper Smooches Swanky Snowmen set along with a Mama Elephant Jingle Greetings sentiment.

The falling snow is added using a Simon Says Stamp stencil and modeling paste.

This next card is made in a similar way, with the Santa cap stamped first, masked and then the bird added.

The snow and Santa's cap are highlighted with Ranger Liquid Pearls.

The shaker tag is created with PTI's Luggage Tag die and another Paper Smooches snowman.

There is one large snowflake floating around with the microbeads and star confetti. I'd love to find tiny snowflake confetti, so please let me know if you come across any.

I'm any linking this tag to Happy Little Stampers November Christmas Challenge: Tags and Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags where I was inspired by the Day 9 post with contributions from the Paper Smooches Design Team.

CTS149 + SSS Thinking of You & Muse #141

I have a couple of cards to share today. I immediately saw the CAS(E) This Sketch #149 as perfect for a sympathy or "thinking of you" card, which is also the challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog.

Tumbled Glass Distress Ink is stenciled onto a Soft Stone card base, a Technique Tuesday sentiment added next and then a Poppystamps Massa Leaf die cut is adhered with a twine bow.

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

For this second card, I took the offset panel design, watercolor and embossed dot panel from Michele's inspiration card for Muse #141 to make this Thank You card.

I'm not sure I've ever used the little flower and leaf stamps from Technique Tuesday Fabulous stamp set, but the "thank you" is one of my favorite.

Isn't the Delicata Gold ink amazing!

I can't post today without mentioning the terrorist attacks in Paris. I lived in France for a year after finishing university and the country will always be very special to me. My head is trying to make sense of a senseless and cruel act and my heart is broken for the French people today.

OCC Holiday Style Day 3 & CASology 172: Give + 25 Days of Christmas Tags + HLS November Christmas

Does anyone else struggle with getting good photos when we switch back and forth between Daylight Savings and Standard Time? I usually have time to take photos late in the day, but my light is fading too quickly right now and they are darker than I like, but will have to do for now.

First I'm going to share this tag cut with a Lawn Fawn die and made into a shaker.

The Mama Elephant Jingle Greetings stamp set was an impulse by at a local store last weekend and I am really loving the sentiments.  A couple of Paper Smooches burlap holly leaves left over from yesterday, Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter and microbeads finish the shaker tag off. This is being linked to the CASology Week 172: Give challenge, Happy Little Stampers November Christmas Challenge: Tags and 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

This card is more homework for Day 3 of the Holiday Style class at Online Card Classes. Not visible in the photo is the Wink of Stella adding glitter to my large snowflake.
