Inspiration came from both the photo and sketch from the Fusion: Bright Butterfly challenge.
A panel is inked with Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks and then a water spritzed stencil is pressed on it to dilute some of the color and leave the stencil image. The PTI sentiment is stamped directly onto this panel and a couple of Martha Stewart punched butterflies flutter around it.
The solid butterflies are all cut from a piece of transparency that is stained with Sailboat Blue Alcohol Ink and a black Delaney butterfly die cut is layered over the largest. You can see how the color of the butterflies varies depending on what color they are layered over.
I am also linking this card to the Wednesday Challenge Blog at Simon Says Stamp where the challenge is to use a favorite technique or product. Distress Inks, stencils and die cutting fit the bill for me.
The final link is to Seize the Birthday, where the challenge this time around is Nothing but Neutrals, but thankfully they always have an Anything Goes option.
Thanks for stopping by,
Jacquie
