Papertrey Ink April 2018 Blog Hop

We were given this lovely photo of the delicately painted fine china teacups to inspire us for the  Papertrey Ink April 2018 Blog Hop. Check the link for the details.

The detailed pattern lines on the top few cups made me think of the PTI Quilled Elegance stamp set. The image and sentiment are stamped and heat embossed in gold and then colored in with Copic markers.

A few Pretty Pink Posh jewels mimic the delicate, polished feel of the cups and finish the panel before it is popped up on a Hawaiian Shores card base.

I'm off to Hop and see how everyone else was inspired this month!

CASology Week 297: ACTIVE

Welcome to Week 297 at CASology!

I decided to make an anniversary card for my husband when I saw the cue word for this week. It may not look like a traditional anniversary card, but the inside will read "with me", and going for an early morning hike is a favorite activity for him.

The Concord & 9th tree ring is stamped on the kraft card base with kraft ink to provide a base for the die cut sentiment. The MFT High Rise letters are cut twice from black card stock and once from a map before being layered together. The smaller letters are die cut with PTI Headline Alphabet dies.

Check out the design team cards for great ideas!

Twofer Card Challenge #4

I have had my Stamping Up Hey, Chick stamp set sitting on my desk since the Twofer Card Challenge #4 Pets was announced.

In the interest of full disclosure, I only dream of having chickens for pets and have to get my chicken fix when visiting my sister.

For the friendship card, a stamp positioner is used to space a trio of the mop headed chickens on a white panel and they are colored with Copic markers. The two outside birds are colored the same and the middle one is given a full rainbow explosion of color.

Even the legs are given rainbow details. The sentiment is from Papersmooches Fresh Snow stamp set.

I was thinking of the chickens in their coop when I made this birthday card. All three chicken images were stamped, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut to fit in the MFT Peek-a-boo Squared die.

The sentiment is stamped & heat embossed in the 4th circle and the woodgrain embossed circle panel popped up on the card base. The chickens are adhered flat to the card base under the bottom of the circles and a foam pop dot is put under the heads for added interest and dimension.

CASology Week 296: PARENT

Welcome to week 296 at CASology!

My head was spinning with ideas from something for a new parent through to a Mother's or Father's Day card before I finally settled on giving a little parental advice for one of my young adults. The Dylusions Clearly the Right Words sentiment is stamped and heat embossed onto four scraps of colored card stock before being cut apart.

Taking a strip from each color, the sentiment is reassembled in an ombre order from yellow through to a terracotta orange  color. Each strip is adhered at a slightly different height, giving an up and down movement and adding interest to the design. To finish the card off, a wonky heart die cut is adhered below the sentiment.

The design team has fabulous cards this week!

Muse #261 + Color Throwdown #488

The bright spring flowers in Tracey's Muse #261 design really caught my eye this week. I took the  floral spray and sentiment from her design and paired them with the Color Throwdown #488 colors.

The Avery Elle Mother's Day floral image is stamped on a white panel and colored with Copic markers. The top of the image is fussy cut and the rest of the panel trimmed with a stitched rectangle die before the hello sentiment from Avery Elle Brushed is finished with the PTI Simply Spring Borders spring stamp.

The stamped panel is popped up on an aqua polka dot patterned paper panel and a trio of Pretty Pink Posh jewels added to complete the card.

CASology Week 295: BELIEVE

Welcome to Week 295 at CASology!

I put the Poppystamps Do You Believe stamped sentiment front and center for this card by using Versamark and heating embossing on watercolor paper.

A couple of Zig Real Brush markers were used to color the panel. Once the panel was dry, the gloss of the clear embossing was removed by ironing it off the panel. A trio of my newest obsession, Pretty Pink Posh jewels, finishes off the design.

The design team has some terrific cards to inspire you!

CASology Week 294: START

Welcome to Week 294 at CASology!

What kind of START is someone in your life celebrating? A new baby, new marriage, graduation? There are so many options for this week. I did a quick search of my stamp inventory (love, love, love Evernote) to see if I had anything tagged with the word start and was happy to find a few choices.

I was drawn to this PTI Wet Paint III stamp & die set and started searching for an image to anchor the sentiment. My day always starts easier if the sun is shining so I used a SSS Confetti Circle die to make a stencil and inked a sun in the corner of a white panel.

The design team has great cards this week!
