Twofer Card Challenge #4

I have had my Stamping Up Hey, Chick stamp set sitting on my desk since the Twofer Card Challenge #4 Pets was announced.

In the interest of full disclosure, I only dream of having chickens for pets and have to get my chicken fix when visiting my sister.

For the friendship card, a stamp positioner is used to space a trio of the mop headed chickens on a white panel and they are colored with Copic markers. The two outside birds are colored the same and the middle one is given a full rainbow explosion of color.

Even the legs are given rainbow details. The sentiment is from Papersmooches Fresh Snow stamp set.

I was thinking of the chickens in their coop when I made this birthday card. All three chicken images were stamped, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut to fit in the MFT Peek-a-boo Squared die.

The sentiment is stamped & heat embossed in the 4th circle and the woodgrain embossed circle panel popped up on the card base. The chickens are adhered flat to the card base under the bottom of the circles and a foam pop dot is put under the heads for added interest and dimension.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jacquie

  1. That's a terrific way to get your chicken fix, Jacquie! She gets all the work and you get all the cuteness, lol! Speaking of cute, these two designs are cute and fun! All of us need to get in touch with our inner rainbow-hair-and-knee-sock selves once in a while! Your interpretation of a chicken coop is spot on from the ones I remember at my grandpa's place. I love how you have them popping out of their windows and the great e/f you used! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #4! Hugs, Darnell

  2. I'll admit that I'm not fond of chickens. But in my defense, they chased me and pecked me constantly when I was little and lived on the farm, lol! These, however, don't scare me one bit! They are just fantastic images, Jacquie!! LOVE the rainbow chick - she most definitely stands out in the crowd. Such a fun idea to have created a henhouse, too. These ladies look lovely. So glad you joined in the fun at the Twofer Challenge! Bev

  3. Hahaha ... that middle chicken on your birthday card is a riot, Jacquie ... love her wild rainbow coiffure and those brilliant stripy legs! Great hen house ... those chickies peeking out of their little windows (it's a luxury hen house!) are so fun! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)
