CASology Challenge #365: KITE

I measured and cut a patterned paper kite, used a stencil to add interest to the sky and left the pieces to sit on my desk while I searched for just the right sentiment. My initial plan was to use a simple hello, but I have to admit our current Stay At Home orders have me feeling a bit on edge and wanting to say something more.

I found what I was looking for with an older Paper Smooches Group Hugs stamp set sentiment. Tiny snips of crepe paper adhered to the twine tail and a trio of Pretty Pink Posh Jewels add a little extra interest to the design.

The design team has great cards this week!

Freshly Made Sketches #428

Amy O'Neill has given us a great sketch to play with this week. The offset circle panel had me reaching for Pretty Pink Posh Spring Wreath and a fist full of Copic markers.

The MFT Essential Sentiments sentiment is stamped and heat embossed before being popped up over the wreath.

I hope you can join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

Freshly Made Sketches #427

After seeing Narelle's great sketch this week I wanted this Simon Says Stamp All Season Tree to take center stage. A reorganizing of the office uncovered a forgotten stash of dot and grid papers that worked to help the white die cut pop.

A simple MFT Essential Sentiments birthday greeting is heat embossed and popped up over the tree to finish off this clean and fresh scene.

I hope you find the time to join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

I'm also linking this card to Seize the Birthday #185 Touch of Green.

CASology Challenge #364: TEA

As much as I love my coffee, the day almost always starts with a big mug of Good Earth Sweet & Spicy tea. I pulled out a very, very old MFT teapot die and paired it with a Greetings and Salutations Sentiments for this design.

The teapot is popped up on a scalloped edge panel for a little extra interest.

Check out the terrific design team cards!

Freshly Made Sketches #426

I've been cleaning out and reorganizing my bursting at the seams office and one of the things that survived the purge was bits & pieces of pom-pom trim, so I was happy to see Karren's great sketch this week that had the perfect spot to use a bit.

The PTI birthday sentiment is stamped and heat embossed before the yellow panel is embossed with the large dots and the Mama Elephant Happy die layered with a Poppystamps Celebration Balloons die cut.  This finished panel is popped up over a cloud stenciled panel and added to the yellow card base.

Check out the fabulous Clean Team cards at Freshly Made Sketches and join in the fun this week!

Freshly Made Sketches #425

I had an idea immediately for Cécile's great sketch, but the execution was not coming together. The card sat on my desk for a few days as I rearranged the arrows in various colors from our local high school along with a graduation cap die cut substituting for the butterfly.

In the end, I realized I wanted to highlight the movement of layered arrows more than adding the cap and left off that element. The sentiment is from a very old MFT Inspire By Knowledge stamp set.

I hope you check out the stunning Clean Team cards this week and play along with us!

CASology Challenge #363: SKYLINE

Welcome to CASology #363!

Skyline images and dies are a weakness for me. Let's just say I had plenty of options for this challenge before finally settling on Concord & 9th City Stacks for this card.

The big city skyline image is stamped with a light aqua ink and the top of the panel die cut, leaving a large white space for the Concord & 9th Enjoy It All sentiment. This white panel is then popped up on an aqua card base.

The design team has great cards this week!
