Freshly Made Sketches #416!

How fun is this super sketch from Clean Team Designer Amy O'Neill? I saw the offset panels as stacked mail and immediately started thinking about using PTI Santa Stationery stamp set.

Several of the images are stamped and layered to create the nice list notification from Santa. I avoided filling in a name on the certificate by popping an MFT Yay To You sentiment over the space.

The creative ladies on the Clean Team have more fun inspiration for you! We have a couple extra weeks for the challenge to take us through the holiday season, so hope you find the time to create and play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches!

CASology Challenge 358: BRANCH

Welcome to CASology #358!

I'm looking forward to seeing a wide range of cards inspired by our cue word BRANCH! MFT Tweet Holidays stamp set caught my eye as I searched through my Evernote stamp inventory and the sweet birdhouse is paired with a couple of MFT Bitty Holiday Wishes sentiments.

The small white panel is cut first so the branch and house were easily centered. Copic markers are used to color the scene and a touch of Nuvo drops added to the berries and to add a bit of snowy dimension.

The design team has a great variety of fun cards this week!

freshly Made Sketches #415

I love the simple, elegant lines on Narelle Farrugia's terrific sketch and look forward to see how it gets used this week!

I'm still churning out Christmas cards and decided to create my design around the colors of a pretty washi tape.

A red Hero Arts Merry die cut is adhered on the edge of the white embossed sentiment panel before it is popped up over the washi covered narrow angled sentiment strips. The finished panel is added to a green card base.

I hope you find time during the busy holiday season to play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches!

Freshly Made Sketches #414

Our wonderful sketch this week is designed by Karren Johnson! I'm interrupting the Christmas card production to bring you a birthday card this week. My baby boy is turning 21 and, as always, the stack of masculine birthday cards is very low.

This Paper Rose Birthday Wishes image is stamped on a kraft panel and colored with Copic markers, then added to a larger Lawn Fawn woodgrain paper panel. A scrap of the woodgrain paper is used to create the sentiment flag and a scatter of stars finish off the design.

The design team have fabulous cards this week. Check them out at Freshly Made Sketches and join in the fun with us this week!

CASology Challenge #357: GINGERBREAD

Do you include gingerbread in your holiday baking? I'm a huge fan of ginger in any form!

Whether the cue word makes you think of cookies or a house or stamping on kraft paper there are many ways to be inspired this week. This sweet border of gingerbread people from Lawn Fawn Simply Celebrate Winter is heat embossed to give the the look of a royal icing trim and fussy cut before being popped up on a stitched rectangle panel.

A touch of color is added to the gingerbread with Copic markers and the MFT Bitty Holiday Wishes sentiment stamped in red.

Check out the terrific design team cards!

Freshly Made Sketches #413

The lovely and elegant Clean Team Designer, Cécile Ribon is providing our sketch this week!

The squiggly line made me immediately thinking of the movement a watercolor pen makes, so I pulled my Zig Real Brush markers on to the desk while thinking about the image I wanted to use.

Deciding on the Gina K. Designs Winter Flowers poinsettia image and sentiment helped narrow the color choices. I created a couple panels and finished this pink and gold embossed version for the challenge.

The panel is popped up on a pink card base after the sequins were added.

I hope you find time to join us at Freshly Made Sketches this week and Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends celebrating with family and turkey.

Freshly Made Sketches #412

I love the offset panel on Clean Team Designer Jennifer Brum's fun sketch this week!

For this Christmas card a Poppystamps Open Hillside is die cut from a rectangular panel. A second panel is stamped with a Fancy Pants Merry & Bright star surrounded sentiment, heat embossed and inked.

After the two panels are adhered together, the Memory Box Baby Deer is added along with a just a touch of Diamond stickles on the trees, hill and stars.

CASology Challenge #356: FAITH

Welcome to CASology #356!

I love how our cue word this week can be used for everything from a religious holiday celebration to encouraging a friend going through a difficult time!

I took another of my Taylored Expressions masking stencils, layered it with a MFT Sunray stencil and inked with Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Marmalade Spice Distress Inks to get the circle sun base for the PTI Hello Sunshine sentiment.

A few Pretty Pink Posh jewels finish the card with a bit of sparkle.

Check out the great design team cards!

Freshly Made Sketches #411

Clean Team Designer Kim Singdahlsen has given us a terrific sketch to work with this week! I originally saw the circle element as an ornament but when I went looking at my stamp options, the Lawn Fawn snowmen kept calling to me.

The LF Simply Celebrate Winter line of snowmen is stamped on a stitched rectangle panel and the larger LF Ready, Set, Snow snowman stamped on a stitched circle die. The two background panels are embossed with falling snow before being adhered together. A PTI Traveler's Journal: December Typed Words sentiment is curved to fit the circle before it is layered on an slightly larger aqua circle and popped up on the embossed panels.

CAS(E) This Sketch! #347

Although I am often a slow adopter to new tools on the market, I ordered the Taylored Expressions Masking Stencils the second I saw them. How has it taken so long for someone to come up with this staple? Well done, Laurie Willison!

CAS(E) This Sketch #347 is perfect for the square stencil.

I layered the small square stencil on a white panel and then layered the TE Wavy Stripe Stencil on top and blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over both.

After removing the wavy stencil, I lightly inked the center of the square adding a bit of color and soften the contrast between the stripes.

A couple velum SSS Alexis snowflake die cuts are layered and adhered in the center before being added to the panel. A frosty gem finishes the snowflake and the MFT Snow Globe sentiment is popped up last.

Freshly Made Sketches #410

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketches #410!

Clean Team Designer Linda Callahan created a fun sketch for us this week! I knew I wanted my sentiment to go in the main square and had plenty of Christmas options to choose from. This Mama Elephant Jingle Greetings fit perfectly in the MFT Stitched Square Scallop Frame so was heat embossed on a black panel before the frame was added.

The design is completed with a little Memory Box Pine Needle Twigs greenery and gemstone berries.

CASology Challege #355: APPRECIATE

We have the perfect cue word for a Thank You or Thanksgiving card this week! I decided to let the sentiment take center stage with my card, using The Stamp Market Chunky Alphabet dies to cut the first word in rainbow colors.

The second line of the sentiment is cut from Simon Says Stamp You die and nestled into the top line.

The design team has terrific cards for this challenge!

Freshly Made Sketches #409

Clean Team Designer Jen Mitchell has given us a versatile sketch to work with this week! Because I wanted my square card to fit in a regular envelope I cut it down to 4 1/4 inches, which threw some of the other proportions off a bit.

The MFT Snow Globe Sentiment is stamped and heat embossed in silver first, then the panel is embossed with falling snow and adhered to a white panel which is die cut with a Wonky Stitched Square.

The Poppystamps Laurette Snowflake is cut from white glitter paper and layered on an aqua snowflake to finish the card.

Freshly Made Sketches #408

This versatile sketch comes to us from Clean Team Designer Jennifer Timko! I have been playing around with The Stamp Market Love & Cookies stamps and dies and decided the rectangular panel would become a cookie gift box.

The cookies were all stamped, cut and colored with Copic markers. The blue circles were then stamped and heat embossed with a snowflake and all the cookies coated with Glossy Accents to give them a royal icing finish with micro bead "nonpareils" added to the stars and trees.

A couple of layers of the MFT frame create the edge of the gift box and tissue paper is added to the center with the cookies layered on top.

With this stamp set out, I decided to play along with the Twofer Card Challenge #21: Sweets, and used the star cookie to make a card to go along with a new baby gift. The baby we were eagerly anticipating a couple of weeks ago has arrived and is a boy!

The star is stamped, clear embossed on watercolor paper, colored with Zig markers and then die cut.  A panel is also lightly watercolored before the MFT Beautiful Baby sentiment is added along with a scatter of star confetti under the popped up die cuts.

Here is a look at the two cards together.

The Clean Team has fabulous cards this week! Make sure you check them out at Freshly Made Sketches and join in on the challenge.
