Freshly Made Sketches 404

Our fabulous sketch this week is from the talented Amy O'Neill! I knew right away I wanted to use the MFT Stitched Mini-scalloped Oval dies.

It really isn't too early to get started on Christmas cards and I thought the oval would be a great base for the lovely, detailed Poppystamps Blooming Poinsettia die. I cut two of the medium layer and arranged the leaves to emphasize the oval shape. A Pretty Pink Posh Jewel and sequins add a bit of festive sparkle.

CAS(E) This Sketch #340 + Poppystamps Challenge #60

I thought the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch #340 was perfect to use with my Poppystamps Bat Ring die and enter in the Poppystamps Challenge #60 Anything Goes.

09-19

The die is cut twice, first from black cardstock and then from white. The inner moon portion of the die cut is inked with Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks and inset into the black bat ring.

I'm not sure if it was the need to ink up my purple Taylored Expressions Blending Brush that led me to ink a bit of night sky before the bats and moon were added, but I'm glad I did.

Freshly Made Sketches #403

I took a little creative license with Narelle Farrugia's great sketch, turning it to a horizontal orientation, pulling the strips apart so they don't overlap and placed them on top of the leafy embellishment.

A Memory Box Bamboo Shoots die cut is selectively trimmed and placed along a diagonal line on the embossed panel before adding the MFT Greetings and Salutations sentiment strips. The top strip is adhered to the panel, with the other two added with two different height foam adhesives.

The Clean Team has terrific cards this week! I hope you are inspired to play along with us.

CASology Week 352: DRAGONFLY

Welcome to CASology!

I paired a PTI Penned Elegance Sentiment with a Hero Arts Antique Engravings dragonfly image for my card this week. The sentiment was stamped and clear embossed on the panel first, then Shabby Shutters Distress Ink blended over it.

The last step was to stamp a trio of dragonflies, partially overlapping a couple on the sentiment. I love that the embossed area resists the ink and the dragonflies appear to be flying under the sentiment.

The design team has great cards this week!

Freshly Made Sketches #402

This fun sketch is from Clean Team designer, Karren Johnson, and had me immediately thinking of fall leaves for the circle elements.

A Concord & 9th sentiment is heat embossed on a stitched panel and popped up over a white panel on the card front before the Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves die cuts are added.

Check out Freshly Made Sketches for more Clean Team inspiration and link up your card by Monday,  September 16th!
