CASology Week 314: BOY

Welcome to Week 314 at CASology!

I decided to make card with a masculine feel for our cue word BOY, inspired by my electric guitar playing son. Before stamping the PTI Rock On image and sentiment, a mask and stencil were used to create the star.

The star mask was made by printing a country star image, cutting it out, and positioning the open area upside down in the corner of the panel. The TH Dot Fade stencil is taped over this and Barn Door and Mustard Seed inks blended over the stencil to create the dots. The stencil is removed and a little more ink blended to fill in the star shape.

The design team has terrific cards this week!

Muse #283

Kim created a beautifully colored card for Muse #283 this week.

Kim Heggins Muse #283

I thought about using elephants for my card, but the challenge of shading the gray color left me feeling a little intimidated so I pulled out this sweet, waving polar bear from MFT instead. I can handle striped scarves.

The two colored sentiment is stamped first, then the bears added and colored. A teal frame is added for a little more color and interest, echoing Kim's pink panel.

CASology Week 313: DRESS

Welcome to Week 313 at CASology!

My plan was to make an origami dress with patterned paper for this week's card fell apart as I just couldn't get my fingers to crease & fold the paper as needed. So I went to plan B and love the way my dress turned out.

After a few tries, a piece of lightly glittered vellum survived to make the skirt and a freehand top was cut from glitter paper. The scalloped velvet ribbon was perfect for finishing off this elegant little number. The feminine sentiment comes from an old MFT stamp set, a la Mode Cheers.

The design team has a outdone themselves this week!

CASology Week 312: HEAL

Welcome to Week 312 at CASology!

There are many different ways to take this cue word and I anticipate a gallery full of sympathy and get well cards, along with a few related to new shoes!

I pulled out Papertrey Ink's Stuck On You stamps and dies and die cut three vellum bandages. The back of the die cuts were colored with a Copic R20 marker and a white center panel was adhered. The sentiments and a vellum heart were added to the front of the bandages before they were adhered to the card front.

I always have a couple of bandages in my wallet and one saved the day on a recent vacation when my shoe fell apart.

The design team has terrific cards this week!

MIM334 + Seize the Birthday & CTS287 + PSC#48 + SSS Anything Goes

After a month long separation, I'm so happy to be reunited with my craft room and even happier to have a couple of cards to share today.

This first one is inspired by Lexi Daly's Glitter Inlay challenge for PTI's Make It Monday #334 and Seize the Birthday.

The sticker paper was cut slightly bigger than the Text Block birthday die cut. After the die cut was adhered, a trio of glitter colors were poured over the panel and worked into all the nooks and crannies created by the letters.

The finished panel is popped up on a white card base.

This second card is inspired by the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch #287, along with the Anything Goes challenges at both Poppystamps (PSC#48) and the Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

A trio of Mama Elephant Party Kit balloons provide the rectangle element of the sketch, with the angled Poppystamps Happy Birthday Melody die stretched across the panel.
