CASology Week 309: SUNBEAM

Welcome to Week 309 at CASology!

This week it was a sentiment from the Technique Tuesday Say It - Thanks stamp set that inspired my card. Instead of stamping the "thanks", I subbed in a MFT die cut using the camoflage die cut technique.

The die is cut once from the sunbeam patterned paper and twice from pale yellow cardstock. The stamped sentiment is added to the panel before the stacked die cuts are inset.

Check out the amazing design team cards!

Muse #275 + Simon Says Dies

I'm avoiding some chores by playing in the office today after seeing Kim's card for Muse #275.

Kim Heggins Muse #275

Inspired by the color purple along with the coffee and donut theme, I came up with this clean and simple card.

I searched in vain for a purple and white polka dot paper to cut my Memory Box On the Go coffee cup, finally settling on a grid paper. It is cut on the diagonal for a little added interest.

The chocolate donut is pieced together with white frosting and purple micro bead "sugar" before being added to the panel.

The sentiment is from the Avery Elle We Go Together stamp set.

CASology Week 308: CLOUD + Twofer #7 Beverage

Welcome to Week 308 at CASology!

I went with a slightly unorthodox idea for our Cue word this week and pulled out a cloud shaped speech bubble to create a steam cloud panel to hold the MFT Perk Up sentiment for this Encouragement/Friendship card.

For added interest, the Memory Box Large Coffee on the Go die is given a patterned paper sleeve and the sentiment stamp is stamped in two colors.

With the Twofer Card Challenge 7 being beverages, I left the coffee cup die out on my desk hoping to come up with another way to use it.

It took a couple of days and a heat wave  to realize the upside down cup reminded me of a popsicle. And what is a popsicle if it isn't a frozen beverage?

A watercolor panel is striped with strawberry, orange and lemon flavors and a trio of popsicles cut out. My stamp platform allowed me to stamp the PTI Penned Elegance on each of the die cuts before lining them up and adhering them together.

The card base is inked before the die cuts are popped up with foam tape.

The CASology Design Team has fabulous cards this week!

JUGS #448 Citrus + Fusion Cactus Door

I couldn't resist making a lime margarita when I saw JUGS #448 Word Week: Citrus and used the colors and sketch from the Fusion Cactus Door to design my card.

The MFT Martini Shaker die subbing in for a margarita glass is cut from watercolor paper and colored in an aqua ombre. The Memory Box Small Citrus Rounds are also die cut from watercolor paper and colored with Zig markers.

The sentiment is stamped across the glass onto the card base before the glitter and sequin shaker is created.

The lime slice is tucked into the rim and the lime half is popped up to rest on the glass base.

CASology Week 307: ZOOM

Welcome to Week 307 at CASology!

With our cue word this week, I started thinking about things that help you get from one place to another as fast as you can as I flipped through my stamps. I knew this Art Impressions skateboarding lady was the winner as so as I saw her.

To help keep this larger image CAS, I kept the color palette simple.

The design team has great cards!

MIM 326 + Muse 272 + JUGS 447

I started playing around with some ideas after watching Lexi's video for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday 326: Inchie Elements challenge and seeing Steffi's card as the guest designer for Muse #272.

My first attempt at the card included the sentiments and hearts stamped on one inch squares, but I wasn't happy with the results and rummaged around for a similar sized heart die. I hope this is still considered close enough to an "inchie element" for the challenge.

The heart die and outline stamp are from the Framed Out #11 Heart set and the sentiments and ampersand die are from the Grand Ampersand set.

A white panel is embossed with horizontal stripes and the raised stripes lightly inked in pink before the other elements are adhered. The white panel is then added to a pale pink card base.

I'm also linking this card to Just Us Girls Challenge #447: Wild Card Week where anything goes.
