Trying to look for the bright side, I am happy this happened today and not over the weekend while dear husband was away. I freely admit to handing any household maintenance/repair issues to his capable hands while I take care of all card making responsibilities.
After shutting off the water main, moving furniture, placing buckets and poking holes in the ceiling to release the water and stop further ceiling damage, I squeezed in some crafting time and made a Christmas card based on the CAS(E) this Sketch! #54.
The card is sweet and simple and uses more of my little jingle bell collection.
If you are interested in why our pipes are leaking, google copper pipes & chloramine.

Um, yeah, I think you pretty much nailed another one, Jacquie! I love this! (So sorry to hear about the pipes leaking.) Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteYep, you nailed it! Love those dangling jingle bells! Sorry to hear about the leaking pipes!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the leaky ceiling Jacquie, such a drag! Your card though is fabulous, love the embossing. I am with you about not minding sharing theh burden--he can do household repairs and you do cards. It is a 50-50 I think. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou're right. This card is simple, and that's what makes it so terrific. I hope it's an easy fix on the pipes and ceiling.
ReplyDeleteOne winter we fled what was going to be a rough winter in our then mountain home. When we returned four months later and the mister turned things back on, Niagara Falls burst from the ceiling. I know your misery but at least you can make a lovely card during the chaos.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the combo challenge, NAILED it, love the bells and the peppermint twine! so great, and so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us at CASology this week - so glad you did!

ReplyDeleteOh dear. That's like the day my daughter told me there was water coming out of the ceiling light. I hope it gets better! Love that this card would jingle when it's opened! Very festive! Thanks so much for joining us at CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is fabulous, Jacquie! I love it!
ReplyDeleteSo cute and I love your bells. Thanks for playing along with us in the CAS(E) this sketch! challenge and hope to see you again.
ReplyDeleteWonderful take on the sketch and I love the addition of the bells!
ReplyDeleteLove your card. I see you got that new IP from PTI last month. I am so sympathetic to your leaky pipes. We have been plagued with the same situation for years. I cannot tell you how many times. We finally got all our pipes lined--had to move out for 3 days,--and that has pretty much solved it for us--except for a few months ago, when a soldered connection gave way. You are lucky your DH will take care of it. In my house, I am in charge of all the repairs, AND all the cards.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the leaky ceiling! However, your card is lovely- beautiful colors and textures (love the tiny bells)! Thanks for joining in at CAS(E) this Sketch!
ReplyDeleteLove your chevron pattern in the background and I can't get enough jingle bells! This is so cute with those bells dangling on your card!
ReplyDeleteOh, Jacquie, I love your little jingle bells ... and the background embossing is brilliant ... one of my faves! Hope you (and the ceiling) and now dry and returned to normal! Anita :)
