CASology Week 208: JOURNEY

Welcome to Week 208 at CASology!

Journey is a great word for all of us traveling this time of year. I pulled out Paper Smooches Get Outta Town stamp set and stamped the suitcase image on three different patterned papers, used Copics to color the handles and clasps and then fussy cut and reassembled the stack on a scrap of cardstock.

I'd love to have this brightly colored stack of suitcases, but will have to make do with my boring black bag later this month.

For more terrific ideas check out the Design Team cards.

Papertrey Ink July 2016 Blog Hop

Have you seen the fabulous gallery over at Capture the Moment for the Papertrey Ink July 2016 Blog Hop?

Blog Hop Inspiration

It is not surprising given the beautiful colors and patterns we had to inspire us this month. My eye was drawn immediately to the triangle pattern on the wall and I used that inspiration to create the triangle pattern on this panel.

The triangles were cut with a Hello Sunshine die and mounted on a white base and then onto a Berry Sorbet panel. A Wet Paint die provides the sentiment and a Bitty Bouquet floral image finishes the card off.

CASology Week 207: ROUGH

Welcome to Week 207 at CASology!

Texture was my first thought when I saw that ROUGH was our inspiration word this week and I started designing a card around using burlap paper that I recently discovered in the office when looking for something else.

A Paper Smooches sentiment is stamped on the card base before the embossed panel holding the festive banner of PTI Mini Tags was added.

The card design is based on CAS(E) This Sketch! #181.

CASology Week 206: ART

Welcome to Week 206 at CASology!

What a fun, wide open word we have to work with this week!

The sentiment is from MFT Clearly Sentimental About Art and the brushstroke from MFT DC Abstract Art. Four Zig markers were swiped on the image and stamped onto a watercolor paper panel before an aqua brush was used to blend the blue & yellow and red & yellow to finish off the rainbow.

Once the panel was completely dry, the sentiment is stamped over the rainbow brushstroke with Versafine Black Onyx ink.

There are so many directions to go with ART as the inspiration. For a few more terrific ideas, check out the Design Team creations.

CTS #180 + ATCAS #92: Stripes + HLS July Anything Goes with Dies

A couple of weeks ago I was one of the lucky winners of blog candy during the Paper Players 300th challenge celebration and included in the wonderful package that arrived from Colleen was a sweet Hero Arts ice cream die. It didn't take me long to start playing with it and I have a few different flavors of cones sitting on my desk waiting to be used.

CAS(E) This Sketch! 180, Happy Little Stampers July Anything Goes With Dies and Addicted to CAS #92 Stripes all helped me with the design decisions for this card.

An ancient open circle border die created the stripes on either side of the Avery Elle stamp for a sentiment panel. The ice cream cone is embossed with a Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder and the ice cream edged with confetti stars before being popped up over the sentiment banner.

I was thinking of this as a strawberry or maybe cherry ice cream cone, but my daughter informed a pink this bright could only be bubbblegum flavored.

CASology Week 205: CHEVRON

Welcome to Week 205 at CASology!

Who doesn't love using a chevron pattern as a design element? I am not sure I should admit to how many chevron products I have in the office: stamps, dies, embossing folders, stencils, washi tape, patterned paper were all hoping to be picked.

In the end, I went with a well loved Cuttlebug dotted chevron embossing folder for this card.

I love using an embossing folder to add interest and texture while leaving tons of white space to keep the design clean & simple.

Check out the terrific Design Team cards for more ideas.
